It would be kind of crazy if he's actually improving and this isn't just a hot streak.

I'm still a bit surprised that rather than try another position he went for another sport. I mean I got it when he retired- you're a QB stick to your guns that said if you're going to re-tool why not do it in a sport you've played your entire life rather than one you haven't touched in a decade or more.

Yes, it goes back to the 1920s. Tourism has always been a mainstay of the Asheville economy so the name makes some sense.

It was Tebow’s third multihit game since Friday, as the 29-year-old followed up on his best week in the minors with more consistency at the plate. In his past six games, Tebow is batting .450 (9-for-20).

are now the Columbia Fireflies.

There is already talk about how quickly the Mets are going to promote Tebow to high A in Port St Lucie. They gotta cash in on this while they can.

It's where Crash Davis hit his final homerun.

Aside from the Columbia Fireflies ... we also have the Lexington Blowfish...seriously.

Those tree-huggin', dope-smokin', non-bathin', Bernie-lovin' fricks in Asheville probably wanted to go with "Terrorists" but backed off.

The name for a professional baseball team in Asheville goes much further back than that. Earliest mention of that name is in 1915. Wikipedia - Asheville Tourists

Then you got the Lansing Lugnuts, and The Albaqurqie Isotopes.

Those are both fantastic names. The Isotopes get the Simpsons bump, too.
