I think we're coming t a consensus that people value Cutler more than Schaub

I hate to say it, but I'm with Adam. I'd take Shaub in a heartbeat over Cutler.

gonna have to figure it out.

I'm torn. All of Schaub's advanced stats are actually better: adjusted yardage per attempt, completion percentage +, TD% +.
But he's also played only 1 16 game season.

who would you take if you were the texans.
to me i take schaub. because cutler's teams have hated his guts for two seasons.
if i'm the texans i hesitate to trade for him. If i'm the bears i might think about getting schaub in there and wonder if he could be better for the team.
so for me. Schaub.

yeah, that's what i'm trying to decide.
cutler you get the more talented but mentally inept guy.
schaub you get the injury prone guy who turns it over less.
i'm having a tough time choosing.
i'd probably go Culter just cause he stays healthy.

so what's the tally here.
it's pretty damn close. I think Schaub has 3 votes Cutler has 4. probably should move on.

You have to consider their systems and the players surrounding them in those systems, as well.
I'm still undecided between the two.

exactly. And who would do better if they were to switch places...
Posted on 4/15/10 at 1:12 pm to Sophandros
Cutler's numbers took a dive last year in every category except TDs. He was previously with ultra talented Brandon Marshall.
He also took a lot more sacks than the previous year.
If you look, Schaub's sack percentage is very high, so to me that says he hold on to the ball really long. WCO is supposed to be about quick passes, so it should cut out a lot of the sacks...
I think if Cutler played with Andre Johnson, his numbers would look similar, if not better, to Schaubs.

so you're sticking with cutler?
Posted on 4/15/10 at 1:18 pm to LSU Fan 90812
Yeah, I'd go Cutler over Schaub.

New topic.
Rivers versus Rodgers.

Ha, well I played my hand on this earlier, but I'd go Rodgers.
Posted on 4/15/10 at 2:03 pm to LSU Fan 90812
Right now, I would have to go with Rivers.
Posted on 4/15/10 at 2:08 pm to PortCityTiger24
Rivers, but just barely
Posted on 4/15/10 at 2:09 pm to PortCityTiger24
I think Rodgers is just coming into his own, staying healthy is my only concern.

I think its easier to think about this like Bill Simmons does in has annual NBA trade value rankings, I gave it a shot
Group A: "Completely And Utterly Untouchable"
1. Drew Brees
2. Peyton Manning
3. Tom Brady
Group B: "Lemme Save You Some Time: N-O"
4.Aaron Rodgers
5. Phillip Rivers
6. Ben Roethlisberger
7. Brett Farve
Group C: "It Makes Us Angry That You'd Even Ask"
8. Matt Schaub
9. Tony Romo
Group D: "Effectively Untouchable"
10. Eli Manning
11. Jay Cutler
12. Matt Ryan
13. Joe Flacco
14. Mark Sanchez
Group E: "Just Know, He's Worth More To Us Than To You"
15. Carson Palmer
16. Matt Cassell
17. Donnovan McNabb
18. Kevin Kolb
19. Chad Henne
20. Vince Young
21. David Garrard
22. Matthew Stafford
Got pretty hard at this point, but just to finish off the list
23. Kyle Orton
24. Matt Hasselback
25. Matt Lienart
26. Alex Smith
27. Josh Freeman
28. Matt Moore
29. Trent Edwards
30. A. J. Feely
31. Jake Delhomme
32. Jamarcus Russell
The Point of doing the groups being that the numbers are somewhat interchangeable within the groupings, gave the whole list a shot, so let the killing of my list begin
oh and here is the link to Simmons article just for reference sake, LINK
