Tampa Bay Rays appreciation thread

Never been much of a Rays fan, but that front office is winning me over. They have by far the lowest payroll in MLB, but look at the product on the field. Everything they do is efficient, everything maximizes their probability to win. They're what the A's have tried to do under Billy Beane, but maybe a better version of it.
The current roster has a little bit of everything:
-A homegrown ace (Blake Snell)
-A top prospect (Austin Meadows) they got when they traded their old ace
-Misfits like Ji-Man Choi, who's on his 6th MLB team, and Tommy Pham, who butted heads with Cardinals management. Hey, their loss.
-Yandy Diaz, who Cleveland got sick of because he didn't hit enough homers, and Mike Zunino, who Seattle got sick of because the only good thing he did was hit homers.
-A bunch of Zobrist-like dudes who can play 4-5 positions and contribute at the plate (Lowe, Robertson, Wendle, Duffy)
-One of the best pens in baseball (2.05 bullpen ERA) led by a dude who can do this:
^that pitch was 99 mph by the way
Also, they won again today and lead the AL East with a 9-3 record.

Though the Braves are my favorite team, I'm rooting for the Rays as well this season

They’re def for real in my opinion. Talented squad
I’m a little hesitant about their pitching depth though. Only a matter of time before Morton misses some time. Gonna need to rely on a lot of young guys during the dog days of summer

Cheap ticket too. They have a Friday home game promotion by 7-11 where tickets are just that $7.11. Cheap entertainment if you don't mind the drive to St. Pete.

They are loaded with talent in the minors as well. They have a seemingly endless supply of guys like Brandon Lowe who are above average at the plate and can profile as a utility type defensively

The reason I'm a huge fan of theirs

I lived in Florida when the Rays came into existence and adopted them as my AL team (i am and always will be an Astros fan).
Joe Maddon won me over, and 2008 was a lot of fun. When Friedman and Maddon left I thought they’d head straight to the cellar, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised.
It doesn’t hurt that I live close to Durham and see the Durham Bulls as well.
Headed to Florida for spring break next week and am planning on seeing the AL East first place Rays play.

I can admire what they've done even though I don't care about them. They need to get a new stadium and out of that shithole. Wasn't there a plan for one in Ybor City?

Im a Braves fan, and will be until the day I die, but if I had to pick a second team it would definitely be Tampa. I have season tickets for the Bowling Green Hot Rods(A-Midwest) and I get to see all the guys play there, and get to interact with a lot of them since its A ball and season ticket holders get a lot of benefits. Its great cheering for these guys.

They're a definite playoff team already imo. They are legit.

16-9 now, still in 1st, but Yanks charging hard
Injuries to Meadows and Wendle not helping matters
