I could see that, even though it would be a surprise considering the competition. Dude can wheel a race car.

How about this guy for a crazy darkhorse pick: David Reutimann in the 00 car.
that is pretty out there. I honestly see Vickers having a huge year this year, he is still really young, but has made strides each of his 3 years, i think this is the year he comes into the spotlight a little more, he just needs to learn to be a little less wreckless, but I wouldn't be shocked to see him qualify for the Chase

Seems like Vickers in '08 was at least a contender in several of the big races just to fall back and not win somehow at the end.

I didn't know you were such a NASCAR guru though.

his pit strategies have been wuestionable and he gets in too many wrecks in the later laps

I dabble, i don't watch every race, but I went to Bristol in fall of 05 without ever having really watched, I got hooked pretty good

Don't doubt him.

He's got the BEST teammates in Nascar, tons of horsepower that he never had(frick Roush's fuel mileage junk)and a new outlook on nutrition and conditioning. This may be his year!!

It wouldn't surprise me to see Mark in the chase this year. Hendrick convinced him to come back for a full time ride and a chance to win a Cup. I can see the Hendrick machine swinging into motion to put all of its resources behind him for a title shot.

His outlook on nutrition and conditioning isn't really new, he has been doing that shtuff for a while now - he has (or had) a huge gym in his house in Daytona and was working out hard even back when he was still in the 6.

Not according to his interview from the other day on Speed Tv. He said he knows a ton more about nutr/cond than he did a year ago. This will help alot later on in the season.
