The most overrated coach in NFL history?

His teams continuously underachieves?

His teams have no discipline?

Gets an annual pass because he is a minority?

Won a SB with a once in a lifetime play?

Lost a SB to a less talented GB team?

Is consistently out coached and wins because of a weak division?

Will never be held accountable by the media?

TRUE across the board!

The Steelers just don’t fire coaches.

I do think he’s really overrated. Almost all the pieces were already there when he was hired.

Name a coach, besides Belichek, who's been as or more consistently good? Maybe Pete Carroll but that's it. Tomlin is top 3 NFL head coach IMO

How many coaches in the NFL are better him? Hes still winning well after Bill Cohwer left.

I bet this board worships the ground Chuck Noll walks on. Ignoring the fact he didn't come close to doing anything after the dynasty. I bet Chuck Noll get destroy in the age of the salary cap.

Lots of others

false, 8 playoff appearances and 2 SB appearances in 11 years, 1 super bowl win while playing in the toughest division in the AFC. Also had to contend vs two QBs who are considered the GOATs one of which has the GOAT HC.

His teams have no discipline?

true

false, because he's good.
32nd all time in wins, 15th in win%

Still got there and won vs a very good arizona team

Lost a SB to a less talented GB team?

Brady lost twice to an even less talented NYG team.

That 2010 team was a damn good defensive team. Aaron Rodgers became elite that night as well because the following season he had a season of a lifetime.

weak division? Browns might be weak, but in that span:
Cincy: 90 wins, 6 playoff appearances
Baltimore: 99 wins, 6 playoff appearances, 1 SB win

I'm almost 100% sure those two put up better seasons in that span than Miami, Buffalo, NYJ, Houston, Tennessee, KC, San Diego, Oakland, Denver, and Jacksonville.

I leave out Indy and NE because obviously they were "the team" of their division.

Probably

Only fair criticism on the list.

And part of that is due to the franchise quarterback being a bonehead.

The only thing I have to say about Tomlin is that he's one of the few coaches I can think of that doesn't seem to do any actual coaching -- he's more of a glorified press secretary than anything. Like a much better version of Eddie O.

He is a fantastic coach. He is not a great in game manager (if that makes sense).

He’s not the only one either. There’s a good chunk of people that actually think the only reason he’s hired is because he’s black

Tomlin makes a lot of bonehead decisions but has enjoyed a HOF qb with a good ownership and that does make a difference.

The onside kick instead of making Bortles get 2 first downs on you was beyond idiotic

As a Steelers fan I like a Tomlin, but he was clearly off his game yesterday. The onside kick was bone headed.

I’ve always said that about Tomlin

I like him and he’s a good coach, but what if they would have handed him the keys to the Browns or Lions 10 years ago?

Everything was there when he got the gig and he’s had great coordinators. He’s more of a CEO vs hands on

Steelers D was having a hard time stopping Jacksonville, had the kick been executed, not even recovered by Pittsburgh, but executed as in going more than 3 yards before being touched, which ultimately ended up in a loss of 12 yards over what should have happened, is the field goal made?

The Steelers under Tomlin are dirty. There were plays yesterday where they were pushing defenders into their own players to draw flags on the defense.

He's been a successful coach, but like Belichick, Payton, Carroll, and so many other coaches these days, his character is questionable.

Why let jaguars punt to the 5 yard line so Big Ben would have to drive 95 yards versus kicking off and stopping them and getting the ball back at the 35-40? Under 2 minutes to go with no timeouts Tomlin wanted ben to go 90 yards for a driving score with the onside attempt. Makes no sense
