Swag Kelly turning heads in Denver

Vance Joseph recalled last weekend that Chad Kelly was a “little tubby kid” when he joined the Broncos last year, a Mr. Irrelevant who was not able to play during the 2017 season while recovering from wrist surgery. Kelly has since traded meals with fried foods for dishes featuring spinach and chicken, slimming down his 6-foot-2 frame. And, after about 18 months away from football, Kelly now feels primed to battle Paxton Lynch for Denver’s backup quarterback job.
“I knew I needed to move around, get back to my old playing weight (from) back in early college and high school,” said Kelly, who was listed at 224 pounds at the beginning of last season. “(I’m) kind of feeling I can move around and do some things with my legs, but also (remain) powerful in throwing the ball …
“It’s been (a) really long (wait). But finally getting out here, you can kind of feel like yourself again. This is what you do. This is your job.”

“(Kelly) can rip that thing, now,” said tight end Jake Butt, who was also on the field during rookie minicamp after spending the 2017 season on injured reserve while recovering from knee surgery. “You definitely gotta wear gloves. He’ll be spinning that bad boy pretty tough. He’s learning the offense. He’s taking leadership. He’s doing a good job.”

Swag making a push. If he’s backup he will see some time this year for sure.

Vance on Case's eventual successor "he's in the building"

The Broncos were so excited to have Chad Kelly that they decided to sign Case Keenum to a $36 million deal.

Swag is the GD man from a talent standpoint. I always wanted him to be the one who won the job at Clemson.

Ole Miss can beat Alabama every year if they win the NC 50% of the time.
Jk, Alabama has 5 of the last 9 CFB championships. Would hate to decrease their odds of winning it all by losing to Ole Miss.

Also isn't running anywhere in the NFL. And didn't seem to have amazing pocket presence.

Love SWAG! Hope he becomes the starter down the road after Keenum wins a few Super Bowls

Keemun benefited greatly from talent around him at the Vikings, if swag wins the backup spot I bet he sees the field. Keenum is not that good. Swag plays like Brett farve which makes you crazy sometimes but other times he will light up your defense, ask Bama. Even when they beat him the second time around he was slinging it at will. Fans will love his style better than Keenum.

Chad Kelly has elite QB talent. He's got a fricking rope and he's a great athlete.
He's next level stupid and immature though. Hopefully he grows the frick up, because he's an NFL starter if he does (and can grasp a playbook).
