And you know They probably already do it for PED tests. Just don't do shite when that test comes back positive. It does nothing but hurt your league

Nfl is doing a great job keeping the dope heads and cheaters out. No room for those types of guys in the league. Good job Goodell

I don't understand the logic of testing for it in the first place.

I've got no sympathy for Bell as it is 100% his own doing, but I don't see how the NFL thinks this is a good thing for them in the long run. Letting guys smoke and get away with it is much better for your image than being a hardass about it and keeping your players in a negative light.

I missed the part where either tweet mentioned the word weed

We're assuming. Although it's a logical assumption, considering his history.

The Steelers are becoming the ultimate what-if team with Bryant and now Bell won't be able to play.

I thought it bumped up after the first suspension?

I think Technically he was suspended under the conduct policy last year because he was busted with Legarrette Blount with weed in the car

I don't care if it was a missed test or actual substance abuse.

How on earth do you have the job you have, making the millions of dollars that you make, knowing you'll be under scrutiny and getting tested, and you still frick up?

It's so God damn simple to not frick this up. It's amazing to me that this even happens.

Need to remove ganja from the list of banned substances. It's 2016.

Is no one reading the 2nd tweet?

He missed a test. That's why it's a 4 game suspension, not a 10/season long one.

Looks like Deangelo will be skyrocketing up the draft boards this year

Yeah he's not that stupid. Missing the test when you would have failed is better than failing it.

But GD is he stupid still though. He's in a contract year for starters, and if this 4 game suspension holds up, coupled with his 2 game suspension last year, he will have missed over $400k in game checks - 10% of his total contract value at this point.

How is it better? Everything I'm reading says skipping a test is treated as failing a test.

The only way it would make it better is if he DID have substances in his system. So he got away with 4 instead of 10.

I think it goes 2, 4 and then 10.

It felt like Josh gordon went from 4 to life without parole

ETA first suspensiom is 4 games. He was only suspended for 2 last year because he was suspended under the conduct policy, not the substance abuse policy

He initially got 3 games. 2 for the marijuana, 1 for conduct policy. It got reduced to 2 games.

From an NFL article:
quote:

The Steelers running back has been suspended two games for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse, the league announced Tuesday. In April, Bell received a three-game ban and the fine of an additional game check after violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse, per NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.

ETA: shite, idk. I could be completely wrong.

The fact that training camp starts today and all were talking about is the leagues vague and outdated suspension policies is the real problem
