so you chuckled at a completely different person getting hit?

The guy that got hit was at 1st where that call and another were totally blown.

What's so hard to understand about that?

He got the call right. The home plate up blew it. If you're trying to say they were cheering because of a second missed call... yeah no one is buying that bs.

Writing an article about blown call and the umpire's conduct is what I disagree with. His priorities are skewed. Not to mention that the call likely didn't matter as the game wasn't close. Then all of the stuff - he couldn't tell whether he touched the ump and they should just ask TR if he hit the ump - he doesn't lie. Good grief.
What he should have said is, bad call, they happen, TR touched the ump...that is per se 4 game suspension, inadvertent or not. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. Forget it. Move on.
Instead, he took the opportunity to rile 'em up.

That is obvious on freeze frame. That's not obvious in real life.

But that is besides the point. They cheered over the play that Robicheaux got tossed on. Trying to claim otherwise is the whole pissing on my leg/telling me it's raining.

It was obvious during the game. Everyone in the stands noticed it, not really a hindsight thing.

When there is no appeal process, the umpire has a lot of power and needs to be held accountable. You obviously have not seen the play or the argument. First of all, he was looking at the runner touching the plate while the ball was in the air. So either he is flat out lying about seeing the play or he has the best vision on the planet. You don't overturn that call unless you are certain. He then tossed tony for brushing his arm saying the words "you're suspended". He then lied in his report by indicating 2 bumps. There is video evidence refuting that. By rule, he made contact with the umpire. Even though it was not in the spirit of the rule, everyone has accepted the suspension. What fans, as well as jay and tony, want is for don Hudson to be held accountable for his actions. Is he immune to discipline? Tony made incidental contact with the crew chief several times during and after the altercation. Did that umpire file a report? No, because he has a brain between his ears. Tony has never in his 29 years of coaching had an incident with bumping an umpire. You have a team in the middle of the best season in their history and because of an umpire with a Napoleon complex, they have to play 4 games during the home stretch without him. The umpire gets to go back to work as if nothing happened and that's wrong.

Link? did you take a random sampling of the fans on Sunday that were also there on Saturday. Was your sampling done before or after the rain delays?

Whatever makes you sleep better. Those dumb cajun fans

My link is common sense. People don't cheer over umps getting hit on the arm a day later over a random miss at first.

They cheered because of the play Robicheaux got ejected over and thought it was the same guy. If you are actually arguing that you can't be helped. Or you're arguing the fans who cheered are even lamer than I imagined.

So either they're stupid or incredibly lame. You tell me.

I think you're kind of blowing it out of proportion. People were frustrated with the crew and I think the cheering was more light hearted than anything. It wasn't some eruption of cheering and screaming. Everyone knows which ump to hate.

There's a small pocket of fans who sit in the corner of one of the bleachers who are gigantic douche bags, most other fans don't even like them. I'm sure they're the ones who people have complaints about.
