Bc they have more talent than the G5’s they’ve played
They’ve played zero w a pulse

I mean you could at least tell the full story and mention they're ranked in the top 25 again.
First back to back shut outs in 65 years with a realistic chance to make it 3 in a row.
Defense in Hammond, America is nasty. KK Reno may be a top 5 best defensive player in the state.

Hopefully they don’t choke in the Quarters or Semi’s, but if they keep it up, the Division II Select road to the dome will go through Buddy Marcello Stadium if they get the 1 or 2 spot in power points.

Poorly coached is an understatement.
If (highly doubtful) Sumrall stays at Tulane after this season I pray we get a new OC. We have a terrible time in the redzone.

Why are they undefeated against G5s?
They are a solid squad. Still, they are a tier below LSU.

Ummmm…no.
He is quite good though, and is about to be paid. Good for him.

Didn’t they beat Northwestern and Duke? I mean, the loss at Ole Miss, while lopsided, was against a top 10 team.

Yeah but struggled against a bad South Alabama team (you can say that they were "listening to the hype" (a player said so) or "looking over them" because Duke was the following week.
They haven’t played a solid 4 quarters this year with MAYBE Tulsa being the exception. The Northwestern game they were up 20-3 at half and won 23-3. Sumrall is old school in his game plan. He wants to run the ball, get a lead and then clock control.
The Duke and Northwestern wins are looking pretty good as the season goes on
I’m not going to crap on how last year ended with 3 straight losses as Mensah kinda screwed over the team.

I think Sumrall is right where he needs to be at this point in his coaching career. Someone is going to hire him this offseason but he isn’t (at this point) the coach Napier was at ULL or Herman was at Houston. So to go from eeking out wins vs ecu and army to competing in the sec is too big of a step.
IF (god I hope so) we get away from BK it wont be to make a risky hire like Sumrall. 5 losses last yr w an AAC schedule (yr after the better teams bailed for big 12) and some ho hum performances vs bad conference teams does not inspire confidence that he’s up to the task yet

I agree and that’s not me saying that as a Tulane fan wanting him to stay. He needs to fire his OC and let the next guy run an offense that doesn’t rely on clock management.
He would be a fool to leave this year and some school like Arkansas is going to throw a bunch of money at him and then wonder why he is winning 4 games a year (that not a dig at Arkansas).
The best thing for Sumrall (and Tulane) would be for UAB to hire Craddock as HC.

Well…. Look at the 5 losses.
1 score loss to Kansas St.
15 point loss to Oklahoma
Lost to a good Memphis team
Lost to a decent Army team in conference championship game and Mensah pretty much checked out because he was going to Duke
Lost to Florida in the bowl game playing or backup qb. Sumrall gave him the entire game to get tape out so he could transfer.
Im more concerned about this season and Tulane can’t seem to play a complete football game.

Southeastern is a decent 5-2 after crushing the Demons 49-0.
Their only 2 losses this season are on the road to FBS LA Tech & LSU
Currently tied for the Southland Conference lead with a 3-0 record (having shut out both McNeese [in Lake Chuck] & NSU [ok... not that hard as the Demons still haven't recovered from that murder situation from a season or 2 ago])
The Lions should be able to take care of business against HCU this week... then the tough stretch vs. ETAMU & then @ (also 3-0 SLC) Lamar
For FCS... SLU is in solid shape

Nicholls got their arses handed to them by SFA in rain delayed game that ended after midnight. Taking them to 1-6 after a red hot start against UIW in Week 0.
WTF happened to both Nicholls & UIW?
That week 0 game was set up as a possible de facto SLC Championship Game before the season technically began
Both the Colonels & Cardinals have fallen completely apart

Feel like their recruiting just can’t keep up. They’ve had good coaches but feels like the days of relying on tough down the bayou boys isn’t going to work anymore.

UIW
Were ranked based on past performance with no accounting for current team. An above average amount of coaching and player turnover was bound to catch up. Now I didn’t think they would be this bad, but top 10 was absurd for them preseason.
