Just don't trade his best friend or he may start to pout and get outplayed by mediocre PGS.

Every player gets outplayed in random games.

But over the course of the season, Paul is the best and has proved that for years.

Instead of saying you don't win championships by building around PGs, its probably more accurate to say that you don't win championships building around the smallest player on the court. Isaiah might be the only exception in the history of the sport.

Paul is better than Isaiah so if you could win with Thomas, why can't you win with Paul?

I didn't say it wasn't possible. Just really really improbable if one guy has done it in almost 70 years of basketball.

The question here is obviously if Davis lives up to his potential. If he does, every GM in the league will pick the big man over the small guy. History has proven that over and over. And it's been the formula to win championships

Paul's rookie season (one year older than Davis):

In 78 games, 16 PPG, 7.8 APG, 2.3 TOV, 5.1 RPG, 2.2 SPG, 84.7% FT, 43.0% FG, 54.6% TS, 22.1 PER, 10.4 WS, .178 WS/48

Davis's rookie season so far:

In 56 games, 13 PPG, 8.0 RPG, 1.8 BPG, 1.1 SPG, 51.6 FG%, 74.1% FT, 55.6% TS, 21.5 PER, 5.0 WS, .152 WS/48

you left out something important...Davis is doing that in 8 minutes fewer per game than CP. but, you know, let's not have the full set of facts in this discussion

IDGAF either way.

And FWIW, PER and WS/48 take minutes played into account.

No because Paul doesn't play for the Hornets and I didn't want Hornetards to be the only ones who answered. Why does it matter?

FWIW, Chris Paul's rookie PER was 22.1, and he came out after his sophomore year.

Assuming we are picking based solely on each guy's rookie season (otherwise it's a ridiculous question considering the difference in games played), I would have to go with Davis.

Davis doesn't need the ball to make his team better, but he'll still be one of the top scorers on the team. He'll be a 10+ rpg guy and one of the best shot blockers in the league, plus he's a more than capable free throw shooter.
