Hes had some rough injuries, but even when he was in he was an afterthought.

I think he can redeem himself this post season though

Watching with my coworker who’s an Avs fan. told him that if Colorado’s game against Edmonton 2 weeks ago is any indication, they need to be down at least 3 before they can start playing hockey

It's a HUGE if...but if Smith maintains this form throughout the playoffs, the only question left is who plays Calgary in the SCFs.

Justin thinking about that arse kicking that’s about to happen. Fun night at Cap One. Back 2 back! If Backstrom is scoring goals, you know you’re done.

Played like absolute garbage, got statistically dominated and in the run of play... and still got the win. There's two way to look at that: either the Caps luck won't hold out or that the Caps have so much more talent than the Canes that they can throw out a garbage effort and still win.

Probably a little of both.

The Caps are clearly borrowing some of the tactics of the 2017 Penguins, hanging back in a defensive shell and absorbing pressure, waiting for a chance to counter with a breakaway. It's a strategy that suits a team with a great goalie, a leaky defense, and great offensive skill players who can bury their few chances.... yup. Seems about right.

I don't know how likely it is, but I'd love to steal both games in Winnipeg.

If the Avs ever deserved to lose a game it was that one. What an absolutely low-IQ effort that was. Grubauer tackling the guy behind the net was some real ECHL type shite. If you can't keep your emotions in check in playoff hockey, you deserve the loss.

For whatever reason, seeing that brought me back to the days when I still lived in New Orleans and went to many of the Brass games. I used to love going to those I-10 road games to watch them play the Ice Gators, Sea Wolves, Kingfish, et.al. Good times.

Vegas had an ECHL team for a few years before the Golden Knights got started. I followed them for a bit when I moved out here but I didn't enjoy the games as much as the Brass days. The exception was always the "Christmas special" home game. Every year around Christmas, they designated one home game for an 11:59pm puck drop. Hockey games are always fascinating people watching experiences but that brought it to another level.

Regarding the Avs / Flames, you're right...the Avs definitely let Tkachuk get into their heads. I have no doubt that they'll be better about that in Game 2. Getting some shots past Smith may be another matter.

It's really not worthy of a video link if there even is one. After the Flames missed on a scoring chance Grubauer went to the side of the net and ran into the Flames player. Rather than quickly get off him he just laid on top of him to give the Avs the advantage as the puck went the other way. So they called a penalty on him giving Calgary the power play opportunity. And Calgary quickly scored putting the game away. Grubbie played himself.
