Wow. I thought the check was extremely violent but also unfortunate. Back checking his sack off to try to prevent a goal, stops striding at the hash marks, hits the guy square in the chest. It was violent because of the speed due to distance travelled. Only fault I saw was not going for the puck. That's a really tough call for length of suspension because the intent was not to injure but to prevent a goal in a one goal game.

Yep. That extra day of rest has given them a ton of energy. The Avs better wake up.

Vegas definitely much sharper 2nd period. Avs haven’t even had any good chances.

Just back from an outdoor watch party.

Nothing beats watching hockey outside when it's 100 degrees at puck drop.

Tough ending but a hell of a game. VGK gotta make a stand this weekend or it's over.

ETA: Originally missed that Scheifele hit on Evans to end the first game and just watched a replay. DAYUM! I thought that Scheifele was better than that.

When McSorley clubbed Breshear from behind was as dirty as it gets. It was so heinous McSorley was suspended for 82 games. Absolutely brutal to watch.

You can stream Sportsnet 590 out of Toronto on the Tune In Radio app. Won't do you any good since Sid left the show a few months back and it is no more.

My favorite show on 590 was Prime Time Sports with Bob McCown but they ruined that one too and he's gone. Still got Leafs Lunch every day at 11 though.

Avalanche were fortunate. I had early appointments so I did not watch the end but woke up when they scored the goal in OT because I was listening via ear pods to the Avs radio broadcast.

Avs fan here by virtue of having lived in Denver for almost a decade. I haven’t had time to follow much this year, but seems like they have a good shot at the cup if they get past Vegas?

Who else is there to fear?

I had no idea Sid left the show. He got his own show now?

I subscribe to the Hockey Central At Noon podcast on Sportsnet 590 The Fan. It's the best NHL podcast that I have found when the Maple Leafs aren't forced down my throat. It was even better 2 years ago when Sportsnet hadn't laid off so many of their better panelists. And Brian Burke, who was one of my favorite analysts, left earlier in the year too. Now, 90% of the time it's only Jeff Marek, Anthony Stewart, and Justin Bourne on it. And while they are pretty good, I liked the variety of panelists much more 2 years ago. Every day it used to be someone different on the show.
