By far the Jackets best game of the series, and they lose because that's how playoff hockey works. Still, Caps won pretty much every statistical measure: they had more shots, more possession, more scoring chances, and more high danger chances. And the Jackets never held the lead. The Caps finally won a game on the scoreboard that they won on the stat... and it took two overtimes to do it.
That doesn't bode well. The good news is that had the Caps played Holtby earlier, they'd likely be up 3-0 right now. he difference in the series has really been just how atrocious Grubi was in net.
That was Eller's first playoff goal as a Cap. If any one player sums up the Caps inability to advance, it's him. A highly paid 3rd line center who gets that money to provide depth scoring, yet absolutely fricking disappears every time it counts. And when he does score, it's because a defenseman deflects it off his body without his knowledge.
Oh, Panarin is a bad arse and clearly the best player on the ice. His game tying goal was sort of awesome.

Could be worse. The Jackets are paying Dubinsky 5.8 million a year to be non-existent on offense and take terrible penalties.

We have Orpik for that. You may have noticed him taking an unnecessary interference penalty in the third period of a tied game. It's his true medium.

For whoever was getting rustled yesterday about this.

three big games tonight , + another duck roasting.
All Series 2-1:
Pitt @ Phil
TB @ NJD
Nash @ Colo
a 3-1 series lead and then returning home for a closeout game, or a 2-2 tied series, on the line for the three favorites.

It’s still ridiculous to me. CNBC isn’t even showing new episodes of Shark Tank tonight. And I actually like that show. Hell, moving the games over to MSNBC would have been a better option than Golf Channel. So Shark Tank and Suits only suddenly became so popular this year that the games had to be moved? Oh well. I’ll stick to listening on app or hopefully find a Reddit stream that doesn’t cut out every 10 seconds.

If anybody watched the last fifteen minutes of that flyers game they can tell you, they are done. They had so many easy scoring chances, and just like game 1, they can't close.
