Yep DC gonna be a shite show on Thursday. Gonna get out there around 2-3 if I don’t go o a whim to Vegas, the boom bust potential on that is just potentially too much...haha

Nothing left to say. Congratulations Caps and Caps fans. Can't see VGK coming back from this. Hope they prove me wrong but I don't think that this is the year for them.

Astros won the World Series last fall, Eagles won the Super Bowl in February and now, the Caps are on the verge of the Stanley Cup. Long time chip holders are finally cashing in.

I actually think it was the right play be Reaves to get the 4-on-4. More likely for a goal to be scored than in a 5-on-5. Obviously, it turned out to be the Caps that scored it, but when down 2 with 5 mins left, it was worth the risk.

Really hope to see the Caps bring it home. As a CBJ fan, I'd feel better about our series getting that moral victory. Plus there's some bitterness about Vegas since we haven't won a series in 18 years. Plus I want Ovie to get his Cup. Plus I lived in the D.C. area for 2.5 years and want it for my friends there (and the great Caps fans on here!)

I’m moving from DC on Friday, so win or lose Thursday I’m getting hammered and streaking through Chinatown.

Current Game 5 / series odds:

Game 5:

Capitals +125

VGK - 145

Total 5 1/2

Series:

VGK +475

Capitals -650

I'd sure love to know what odds that you could have gotten for the Capitals to win the Cup after they lost Game 2 at home to Columbus.

ovie eats chicken parm before every home game and still enjoys regular coca cola

LINK

quote:

When Alex Ovechkin came to the Washington Capitals in 2005, the team had the same meal ordered to the practice facility after every game-day morning skate. It was a large spread from Mamma Lucia's, a local Italian chain. Think: carbs, sauces, more carbs.

"It's a tradition from day one," Ovechkin told ESPN before the season. "They have the Italian food always when we came to the rink, and it's very delicious."

if wash wins 1 more time, consider chicken parm for a celebratory meal

Baloo is testing the gods of sports and juju. He’s not given the masses a detailed report from Game 5. The lie may continue for another few days.

oh wow. breaking tradition during a playoff run is playing a dangerous game

it was the best game in caps history too, considering the stakes and the margin of victory

Somehow I got lucky and scooped tickets to the viewing party.

Caps twitter is getting lit up by a lot of people complaining. I think first rights should have gone to season ticket holders, but people need to be realistic about these things. It’s a crap shoot.

Weather is supposed to be pleasant, so I might pass them to a friend and enjoy cheap beers outside. They say they are non-transferable, but I think a screenshot of the barcode would still work.

What are your drinking plans? I know it would be easy to get blasted, but you have to chill out a bit as you don't want to forget the experience. I'd stay even keel through the game, then blackout after if your boys win.
