I mean.... oh my God. Special thanks to John Carlson who drifts into play, picks up neither man and decides to not play the puck getting passed across the crease. That's giving it your all by playing atrocious defense to give your goalie the opportunity to make the save of his life. Salute to you, sir.
Im pretty sure a similar play happened against Fleury, during a PP, but he was unable to make the same crazy save against ovi

the crazy bounces on shitty ice isn't helping

Yeah that really isn’t Carlson’s fault there. That’s essentially pond hockey. Crazy bounces everywhere.
Having said that, Vegas is so good at drawing so much attention to one side of the ice.

Don Cherry said it's the best ice in the league.

Caps ice was pretty terrible in game 3 against the Lightning. Hopefully they have it ready to go Saturday. It’s only a high of 82 on Sat.

In the final minute, there was a puck that bounced directly over Wilson's stick, preventing a clear, then bounced again, turned, and landed spot on a Vegas stick. It was the damndest thing. It's like the puck was remote controlled by a Vegas employee.
The ice has been horrible which favors the Vegas forechecking style and disfavors the Caps possession-based game. Won't get much relief in DC.

Edmonton has the best ice I thought? What’s the humidity like in DC? That is the killer to ice.

The pass to Ovi is what he should have stopped. It went between his blocke and stick. It was crazy

And there's the Metro station under the arena. DC has some of the worst ice in the league. Vegas might be worse.
I always heard Edmonton had the best, too.

Shaggy and Sting playing a concert on G st before the game tomorrow and then Fall Out Boy before Game 4. Pat Sajak announcing starting line ups. SUCK IT VEGAS

I will be there on Monday. Excited for Fall Out Boy before the game. I was hoping it would be someone decent.

I was hoping they would reunite Minor Threat to play I'm Seeing Red, which would be DC as hell, and also on the theme of the Caps. Also, the song would take a minute (if that), and we could get straight to the game.
I'm also thrilled the Caps and the DC media have not gone the traditional route and bitched nonstop to the media about the officiating. The Knights had a 5-2 power play edge in Game 2. They knocked Kuzy off of the game on a hit in which the defender left his feet and not only was their no discussion of a suspension, he didn't even get a penalty. Instead, the team used it as motivation to play better an win. James Neal drew a penalty against Orpik by literally punching himself in the face Fight Club style and Orpik got penalized for it, in objectively the worst call of the playoffs. I mean, there's not even a grey area here. Neal punched himself in the face and someone on the opposing team got penalized for it.
And this doesn't even get into the missed cross check leading to the Reaves goal in Game 1. And instead of this being the story of the Finals, which it would be if it were another team with an active media drumming that drum. instead, the Caps and the DC media have seemingly adhered to a No Whining policy, and its awesome. Refs are gonna miss calls. It sucks, but this team uses it as more fuel for the No One Believes In Us fire. Eller misses a wide open net to cost the team a possible win in Game 1, and instead of pouting, he comes back with 3 points in Game 2.
That is the difference with this year's team. There are no excuses being made. Let other teams whine.

lmao no one punched their self in the face. Neal was just one hell of an actor and made it seem like he got checked in the face by clutching his face when Orpik got a clean check.

I mean he left his feet, but he was moving backwards during the hit, not sure if that changes anything but it probably shouldve been called.

The Reaves no call on the x-check was bad. Caps answered game 1 very very well.
I wish more people would take the No whining approach. Its the cup and refs are letting them play both ways They are making poor calls and no-calls both ways. Vegas is just much better at acting and drawing penalties.

100 degrees and a sweltering 7% humidity here in Vegas. Thinking that I'll be passing on the outdoor watch parties today.

Pansy. But yeah me too. Probably. There’s so many fine women out at Toshiba Plaza so I wanna go out there and make a sign that says “I’m single and have an extra ticket to game 5”.
