They had these awesome double shot mason jars tonight that I hadn’t seen before. The bourbon was flowing. Crowd was amped pregame. I remember looking up and we had outshot them 9-3 and then they got the PP and it took some wind out of the building. It was the loudest after making it 3-1, I was convinced we were going to tie it up.

I’m the most pessimistic Caps fan there is. We will beat Tampa. I can’t just can’t attend another game in person.

Orlando Thursday, won’t be able to attend. Game 6 maybe but I’d rather us take it in 5.

I'm not as upset as I thought I'd be. The Caps were the better team at evens for the first 20 minutes, they just hadn't scored yet. But the Bolts scored on their first two power plays, and then a goat rodeo of a shift lead to a third goal, and that was pretty much all she wrote.
The game got bad from there. It was, honestly, an embarrassing effort in the third. Lots of stupid penalties, no urgency, and they sort of stopped playing hockey. It's one thing to lose, the Lightning are really good, but that was a gross display. The Caps need to stop taking dumb penalties. The Lightning own this series on special teams.
The Caps, however, are gonna win a lot of games in which Kuzy and Ovi combine for 21 shots on goal. Hats off to Vasielevsky, but I'll take that effort from those two every night. Every one else (except Connolly)? They need to take a long look in the mirror. I'll single out Carlson, Eller, and Kempny especially for having miserable games.
Look, the Lightning are good. You can't take shifts off. You certainly can't take off full periods. But the Caps were in a position they could have a stinker. That's the one. No panic unless they repeat that effort in Game 4. Play like you did in the first period, minus the penalty kill, for a full 60, and you'll get the win.

OK, almost gametime. It sucks that the hoops and hockey tonight are not spaced out a bit in terms of timing. The hoops has been pulling me away lately, but I'm gonna focus on jefforize and jackwoods' squad tonight. Vegas should be lit.
