Let him? Seriously though that was your best game plan.
No, I mean, those mid-00's Spurs teams kinda had that philosophy. We did the same thing with Amare Stoudemire whenever we played the Suns, to great effect.
Just make the other team's leading scorer feel he has no choice but to try and carry the load himself and hopefully throw off the flow of the rest of the team, you know?
ETA: And, yeah, it's not like we had the horses to stop Kobe, anyways. Let's be real

I'd put prime Bruce Bowen on just about anybody if my life depended on it
He was the ultimate, "I love him if he's on my team, but frick that dude if he's not!" guy. Oddly enough he's a super likable commentator now that he's off the court. I always respected the hell out of him

Ain't that the truth?

I agree, his analysis is always spot on. I enjoy his ESPN podcasts with Israel Guiterrez. Bowen's a super nice guy off the court, too.

I think it is pretty silly to say a team isn't built to win a championship when they were pretty much one shot away from doing so last season. Just because they did end up losing doesn't without a doubt mean they aren't built to win.

I think it is silly to ignore the results of the last six seasons when your core players have not changed in that time.
