Count me in...I could be the token female...I'm not too shabby, sports wise, for a girl.

They are NOT on 710 keel. Haven't been for last two days. They were doing a live remote Monday from Muddy Waters for the Saints game and didn't say anything about show going off the air. They were awesome. I scheduled "honey do" stuff around their show from 5-7pm for years. Not the same stuff you get on national news. I like Fletcher in the mornings and them in the afternoons. I was just thinking they should be working on a podcast "just in case". This sucks for Shreveport/Bossier.

Agreed, Jondavid....I just listened to 1340 AM starting at 5 PM to see what programming is on. They were simulcasting the local news from TV channel 3...I wish JJ and Ben could move to 1340 at the same time as their previous show.

I know the guys personally. They will no longer be on the air. There was a budget issue and another issue. They both got a call on Tuesday saying that the show would no longer be carried. They weren't expecting it which is why they didn't mention in on Monday.

So they've been on the air for over 10 years, and this is how they get let go. If that's the way KEEL wants to do business, then frick them, they just lost a listener.

Geaux4, is there a chance their show will land on another local station? Are they interested in continuing it?

Honestly, I don't know. My dad is great friends with them both. I am their kids age (21). My dad just told me they canned it and gave me that story. If I hear something I'll post, but as of now they aren't doing anything.

Anybody heard anything else about this? I hate listening to politcal talk radio.

Personally, I like Tim Fletcher. Very knowledgeable, and hard working. Brings a different flavor to sometimes a rather drab landscape. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I suppose.

Fletch tries too hard to be funny which he really isn't. Ben and JJ Marshall were at least naturally funny and played off of each other pretty well. They weren't LSU shills and would give props to LSU reluctantly when they did well.
I hope they land another slot somewhere on the Shareveport dial.

Tim Fletcher is terrible, he is like a bad ESPN audition, Ben is obnoxious. JJ is the better of the three.
This. Dead on.
It always amazes me the different likes of people. I can't tell you the number of people I talk to that like Tim Fletcher. I think the dude is terrible. A moron and cheesy as hell.
Banzai is a Notre Dame loving hack.
As for sports radio in Shreveport, the stations that have tried it have all failed. For some reason the advertising support is not there.
The further east you go in this state, the greater the support and interest for sports. The failure of sports radio in Shreveport is evident of that.
The Ruston station is pretty good. As are the guys on Fox and Co. from 3 to 6.

ESPN Radio in Ruston (Dubach, technically) is already one of the largest FM sports talk radio stations in the South, but it SORELY needs to be boosted over to Bossier-Shreveport. I listen to Fox & Company and of course Tech Nation Radio. I love the station, but of course there's not a ton of focus on LSU on there since it's in LaTech country, so that may not help most of you guys on here... but it is at least something. Fox & Company are Tech guys but they try to talk about all sports pretty evenly. Shreveport has always sucked as a sports town anyway...
Speaking of that, it blows that the Battlewings moved to New Orleans, and I sincerely hope the Mudbugs stick around in Bossier. I'm almost ready for some hockey! (not quite though, it's still football time!)
