Do you still live in NOLA east
Nah I was living on St. Charles until I moved back to BR.

This has nothing to do with football. I never see slu alumni decals or anything.
Why wouldn’t slu grads show off where they went?
Penis envy?

If this were true, why do I NEVER see SLU shirts, hats, decals on vehicles, license plates or anything SLU around BR and the I-12 area?
Who wants to be seen wearing a Skechers logo?

“We’re the third largest university in the state, only 500 (students) behind UL. We’re going to try to catch ’em,” he stated with a chuckle. “There’s loyalty here. There is passion in the town for (SLU). That is truly a university town. When you drive through town, you see SLU flags, stickers, posters all over the place. You don’t see that in a lot of big town teams. You see that in Hammond, America, which is pretty special.”
This is almost word-for-word a talking point that athletic director Jay Artigues has been pushing for years. Basically, "We're the third largest school in the state, let's start acting like it."
I'm all for it, baseball and football attendance are strong footholds for the program to build itself up from. Basketball has been in an attendance rut for years now, getting that number up will be the challenge. Basketball even had their best team since '05 last season, and attendance still sucked.
It all sounds great but it's something that has to be built over time. SLU has carved out a nice little slice for itself in an overcrowded football market here in Louisiana.
And I see SLU stickers and license plates all the time on I-12... Not sure what yall are talking about. The same ones dogging the program are the ones unaware anything outside of LSU exists in this state.

you're lying about the NSU stuff
Demon alumni living here in Baton Rouge and I see a decent amount of NSU gear down here. Pretty decent alumni base in this area as well.
For the size school we are NSU has pretty good fan support throughout the state.

Hate away. But downtown Hammond on a Friday when the weather is right is wonderful. Live music everywhere, lots of community events, decent bars, solid food.

Hammond downtown is nice, I agree with all of this. But their isn't the passion for SLU like the poster is implying.
