No, but it would be nice if they could get off of their asses and not let this drag out for an excessively long period of time for once.

'More than a scholarship' could mean the environment around the program has to be a positive influence.

'Because it was too much money' could mean they can drive down for the day to see Cam if he is in Auburn without having to get a hotel or spend much on gas.

It is another article with more innuendo than fact.

Auburn still won that game. Sure they might be in some deep shite, but LSU fans shouldn't downplay that result.

I liked the whole "the FBI is getting involved in order to clear Cam's good name" thing a few of the AU fans on the SEC rant were playing up earlier today

exactly. i'm surprised that so many people seem to be freaking out about this. "it'll take more than a scholarship" could mean "a decent OL, WRs, and a running game". this is just more of espn trying to justify their shoddy journalism with more BS.

I don't care. They won it using an illegally recruited player.

Plus I hate Auburn.

I wish I could laugh at how stupid they are, but I know the Rant would react the same way if LSU were under fire.

Does the BCS, and the NCAA want to run the risk of another stripped title?

Also, if they want it taken care of NOW is the time. Once Cam gets out of college they have no power over him. Right now they can threaten him with no playing anymore games this year if he doesn't come in and talk.

Question - If the NCAA slaps down Auburn over this, how much worse will the sanctions against them be than USC got?

The reason I think they'll be pretty damn harsh are that:

1. A kid likely got paid 6 figures by either the program or a known booster

2. Auburn's got a history of shite like this going back to the early 90s under Pat Dye, which resulted in a bowl ban for 1993 and 1994.

In fact, I'm willing to guess that Auburn trustee Bobby Lowder is at the center of *this* scandal much like he was with the Pat Dye pay-for-play scandal.
