it's much funnier watching them try to compete in football rather than giving them an out for why they can't

These grades were cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse??

The NCAA is without question more to blame than Kentucky IF they cleared him, unless there is facts that I don't know about.

And everyone was laughing when I left the LSU/Kentucky basketball game last year yelling that "it might be a UK win NOW, but it won't last long."

I don't have a dog in this fight, but the NCAA is just ridiculous. By no menas do I think Cal is sqeaky clean, but this is the same thing with Rose. The NCAA clears a player to play before the season starts, and then the next year dig up some stuff and rule them ineligible. How in the hell is that the schools fault for playing that guy?

I agree that the NCAA is pretty ridiculous, but it is very unrealistic to expect them to conduct an investigation into every single person that tries to get cleared. In basketball they sign so few players that the coaches should be responsible for knowing things about the players they sign.

Any player has to be cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse before they become eligible. If they don't have the time to investigate before the season starts, how do they have time after? It's absurd to punish a school for something they were told is OK to do from the get go.

see that's why you're a second or third rate football program... if you beat someone once in a blue moon it's a huge deal to you

People are too busy blindly hating on Cal and UK to grasp this well said concept.
