Yep. Amazing that he thought he was bigger than the ufc. Dana just called his bluff.

Like I said in the other thread, the UFC made McGoober, not the other way around. The UFC grew after losing Lesnar. The UFC grew after losing GSP. Connie has been a flash in the pan that hit at the right time. He basically has one quality win on his resume. UFC was already growing before he hit the roster. He gets his arse beat by a career 2nd banana and THEN pulls this shite?
ni agree with most of what you're saying, except the bolded above. Dude beat Max Holloway on a torn ACL. He KO'ed Poirier (back of the head shot and all) who is a beast.

And Connie? Serious?

I have heard multiple theories about his so called retiring. one story I heard was that he wanted more money for his next fight against diaz and the UFC wouldn't cooperate with him. The other I heard was that he returned home and saw a fight and one of his close friends died in the ring and shook him up. my prediction is that the diaz fight will be his last

I think he has come to his senses that he isnt going to be able to beat a bigger man that has the grappling that diaz does along with the chin. this gives him an out, makes dana look like a tough guy, and will let him move back down to 145. win for all.

Dana made the smart move here. You can't let Connie McGoober start controlling you. Connie made a power play and Dana respectfully requested that Connie describe the flavor of his dick.

This . The only employee that "owns" the company he works for is Nick Saban, that's about it.

I wonder if mcgregor was coaxed out of retirement after Diaz basically said he made his arse quit at the presser. "He got his arse beat" or words to that effect.

It was nothing more than Conor making a power play and the UFC calling his bluff.

It actually makes more sense to keep McGregor off of this card. Once the UFC adds another title fight to the card, it'll do at least 800,000+ buys. With McGregor it'd do over a million.
If they wait and put Diaz-McGregor on a different card it'll still likely do 800,000+ on its own. So the UFC gets two huge paydays

sucks for Diaz. One more big arse payday would've set him for the rest of his life.

he definitely deserves it after fighting for scraps for basically 20 fights.

sounds like Dana White threatened him with a lawsuit if he didn't complete his contract.
