No, they still suck

i dont think people realize how Les Miles uses his defense to dictate what his offense does. I think it's stupid, but it wins games. But he's not going out there trying to get 60pts from his offense. He wants to lean on his D, run the clock, and bury them at the end
Well said. Neither LSU nor Alabama can put up basketball scores even on weak defenses. Last year, the most points either one of them scored in a game was 52 and both of them did it against Ole Miss. There were probably 10-15 teams that could have scored more points against that same Ole Miss team (eg. Oregon, Oklahoma State, West Virginia, etc.) but what they wouldn't have been able to do is hold the Ole Miss offense to one score the way LSU and Alabama did. Similarly, Arkansas and Auburn scored 44 and 41 points against Miss. State respectively, while LSU only managed 19 and Alabama 24. The difference is that Arkansas and Auburn didn't suffocate the Miss. State offense the way Alabama and LSU did.
This year Texas scored 66 against Ole Miss while Alabama only managed 33, but does any sane person think Texas is better than Alabama? It is true that neither LSU nor Alabama can play basketball-on-grass the way La. Tech can; they're just not built that way, but with the two most dominant defenses in the nation the last two years, they don't need to. If La. Tech played LSU schedule they would likely score way more points throughout that season than LSU, but they would still lose a lot more games.

Every defensive player and coach in that game should immediately no longer be allowed to play or coach football for the rest of their lives.
