We need to keep focus, like MJ, curry isn't going to get outshined by another player in the NBA as he matured into his prime. Unlike another superstar playing currently.

bron quit on the court. You have to use Pippen accomplishments to defend Lebron. fricking Hilarious. And Pippen's accomplishments are all hand fed from Jordan himself.

Not if you followed basketball to any degree.

quote:Like the season MJ was playing baseball? Was that Pippen season a dream? You know, the one where he finished third in MVP voting and took the bulls to 55 wins, only two fewer then the year before? Was MJ hand feeding him pork and beans? Cause he wasnt feeding him anything on the court, because he had quit

Curry is by far the best shooter in the NBA. But Jordan is overall a better basketball player.

Pippen had a great year, no doubt. He got a lot of MVP votes cause he's filling "michael's shoes". He was only 8th in NBA in ppg, OVER 10 PPG fewer than Michael previous year. Terrific and honorable year for Pip but they won a playoff series and got beat next round.

I don't disagree, but other than the eye test, there aren't many metrics that bear this out this season. It may be blasphemous, but Curry is a better player on paper this year. He's going to obliterate Jordan's advance stats, or most of them anyway.

Jordan made more than 33 three point shots in a SEASON in only 4 of his 15 seasons!
That's because teams actually has something called defense back then. Let the 2016 Warriors play the '89 Pistons and see how many threes he is hitting. It's like comparing the flag football NFL of today with the 1970's Raiders.

1989- 109 pts per game league average
2015- 100 pts per game league average

He's just pissy because the obvious truth about bron is officially undeniable. He's resorting to Pippen debates instead.

This season is like The Alamo for LeBron fanboys

Objective stats are more favorable than the old conventional wisdom.
ESPN's Real Plus-Minus loves Curry's defense -- he's currently #3 after Bledsoe and Rubio, and notably far ahead of #8 Chris Paul, with a 1.82 DRPM over Pauls' 0.82 DRPM.
NBA SportVU likes Curry too. If you look at guards with a reasonable amount of defensive action, out of 72 guards ranked by opponent's FG %, Curry is: #9 (less than 5ft); #4 (5-9 ft); #46 (10-14 ft); #12 (15-19 ft); #21 (20-24 ft); #11 (25-29 ft). That is somewhere between very good and elite.
Then look at the 113 guards playing more than 21 min a game. Ranked by Defensive Rating, the top players are Tony Allen, Andre Iguodala and then a tie for #3 between Khris Middleton and (wait for it) Steph Curry.
Curry is even #3 in Steal Rate at 2.1 per game.
I think Curry is an ok defender and it's not a weak spot for him, but you do realize that he generally guards the worst player from the other team? the whole 4th quarter of the OKC game he was guarding Roberson, who literally can't shoot, not westbrook. Now OKC ran picks to switch Curry back to Westbrook, and he did just fine, but the majority of the time Curry guards guys that suck so he can conserve energy on the defensive side of the ball, which can lead to some misleading stats.
