UNC is one of the best public schools in the country and has been for years.
"An internal investigation into UNC-Chapel Hill’s has found evidence of academic fraud involving more than 50 classes that range from no-show professors to unauthorized grade changes for students."
50 fake classes athletes were in most of them.
"Players were receiving impermissible benefits and having lavish trips paid for; an assistant coach was a runner for an NFL agent; and, of course, there was the requisite academic fraud."

Given the UK hoops team's grades since Coach Cal took over, they are in desparate need of some fake classes.

was that post supposed to disprove the fact that UNC is a great public school?
USnews ranked UNC as the #29 school in the country, and that includes private schools
for comparison UK is #124
LSU is #128
Ole Miss #143

Years not decades bro.
USnews average for UNC during the 80's is 14. So it has actually dropped since the 80's

I'm a year older than you. There's no fricking way that you were old enough to have any real understanding of basketball when you were 5.

It makes it THAT much more ridiculous that he has been dogging people this whole thread about the fact that they probably never even watched basketball back then to draw an accurate comparison. Pretty funny shite.
Eta: let it be known that this cat is a known LeBron hater, but after the Finals the other night he seemed to calm down a bit and appeared to be more open minded about the whole thing. Now this shite? I guess I was beginning to give him more credit than he deserved. He has gone full blown mouth breather in this thread.

No actually I am not. I know 3 unc alum from the 70s and they all said it was easy to get into. Much like Uga was up until hope was installed.
Even now UNC is really only difficult to get into for out of state students. Their acceptance rate is over 50% for in state

quote:I agree.
A prime Shaq is better than Lebron, and people want to say LBJ is better than MJ
As I have said, based on ability, rank as my top-3
MJ
Shaq
LBJ
A prime Shaq is the most dominant force in the history of basketball.
Why do we have zone defenses? Shaq
Why do we have more charges called under the rim? Shaq
Why can defenders initiate brief contact under the rim on the receiver of a inlet pass? Shaq
Why do we have defensive 3-second calls? Shaq
That is what hampers Shaq's already impressive resume. Shaq was so dominant, that they changed the rules to minimize his impact.
That's right. The NBA intentionally went about changing the game of basketball for the sole purpose of killing Shaq's legacy.
It was a fricking travesty. Never before has that happened in the history of the game.
And the problem is that the changes made eliminated physical basketball. . .and pure slashing basketball. Now, as many of you have complained, you have only a jumpshooters league. There is some slashing, but it is almost a shadow of what it was. The slightest contact on the perimeter draws a foul, which encourages people with quick triggers who can get the jump shot off as soon as a foul occurs.
It hurts power players and slashers, particularly the zone.
And guess what, like I have said before, MJ would have a shitload more trouble with the zone.
I can't even fully vocalize how much I absolutely loathe what the NBA did in 2001-02.
It is similar to making HR's count as only doubles, because the league thinks Babe Ruth is too dominant.
