When MJ was at where Lebron is now in his career I bet almost nobody thought he would surpass Magic.

Lebron may one day surpass Michael in most of the statistically categories but he's climbing an uphill battle in terms of ever matching the mystique of Michael Jordan. Jordan is bigger than the game and he came right at a time of mass globalization and branding.

You do realize who has played in and won NBA championships since Lebron started playing, right?

Spurs
Heat
Celtics
Lakers
Mavs

All of those teams have Hall of Famers on them. With arguable 3 of the top 10 players to ever play the game on them (Kobe, Duncan, Shaq)

Jordan was obviously an incredible player but his aura of invincibility is because of exactly what you just said. He came along at just the right time to create a perfect storm. There is so much coverage and accessability of athletes today there is no mystique around any of them.

Great point. Also things in the past are always better than the present. That is just how it goes. People drool all over players from the past because they remember "that one time" and never remember their failures. But present player's failures are shown in front of you everyday.

Jordan the best! All I know is he's making the game winning shot.

All I know is in 7 seasons he was an MVP world champion.. Lebron took a team change and 9 seasons. Does not equal.

The sad thing is Lebron could win 1 or 2 more championships and with the media of today people would think he's the darnest thing ever.

Jordan was his first finals.. Lebron lost 2 of 3. WEAK shite.

I am still confused abou this statement. There are WAY more media members who are constantly talking about how Jordan is better than him. I actually cannot think of a single sports personality who has come out and said Lebron is better than Jordan. Hell I rarely ever see any of the idiots on here say that. Yet it is always brought up.

Give LBJ all the crap you want about last years finals but the fact he even got that Cleveland team to the Finals is honestly more impressive than anything Jordan, or anyone, has ever done.

you aren't going to win that arguement with Magic, Bird, Barkley, Ewing, Malone, Kareem, the Dream, Robinson, etc.

There isn't a center in the game today that is better than the centers in the 80's and 90's

Because the name of the damn graphic is "At the time of their first championship."

Not "At 9 seasons into their careers"

You're joking right? The Trailblazers, Rockets, Pacers, Knicks, Lakers, Celtics, Pistons, SuperSonics, and the Suns of Jordan's era >>>>>>> any of those teams. I'm 19 and I know that LeBron's competition doesn't even hold a candle to Jordan's competition.

Slow down buddy, it's not like the nba is terrible today, people only remember great players of different eras and inflate how good everyone else was
