If Andy Dalton wasn't married... You'd swear he was gay. He was a "college choirboy" type as well. That's the mold I'm seeing for Te'o.

That was my thinking when the news of the girlfriend fakery first broke. Why would an all-American linebacker destined to make millions as a 1st round draft choice need the internet to find a girlfriend......unless he is gay and needed to create the illusion of a girlfriend.

Teo spent his weekends playing call of duty and listening to roniah breathe on the phone

And growing up on Oahu is like living in San Diego not the Azore Islands. He's not that sheltered

In his eyes that was an ideal girl. A 9/10 virgin Mormon from Hawaii.

That girl was a 6.5 at best

My godparents live on Oahu and have kids my age. I've stayed with them a bunch. They've got a "Mormon enclave" in their neighborhood. Those families are TIGHT. Except to go to school and play sports - They keep their kids on lockdown.

He went to Punahou High he's not sheltered evenif the parents think they have it on lock down

Yep. That's the same elite prep school our illustrious POTUS attended running with his 'Choom Gang' getting high and staying drunk all the time.
This is a school primarily attended by the spoiled kids of Oahu's elite and wealthiest families.
No way Te'o was 'sheltered' there.

Perhaps he is Fa'afafine.
quote:
Fa'afafine may be viewed as a third gender specific to Samoan culture.
Fa'afafine are the gender liminal, or third-gendered people of Samoa. A recognized and integral part of traditional Samoan culture, fa'afafine, born biologically male, embody both male and female gender traits. Their gendered behavior typically ranges from extravagantly feminine to mundanely masculine.[1]
quote:
It is a mistake to attribute a Western interpretation and mislabel the fa'afafine as "gay" or "homosexual". In Samoa, the people claim that there is no such thing as being "gay" or "homosexual."[1] Fa'afafine, as a third gender, have sexual relationships almost exclusively with men who do not identify as Fa'afafine, and sometimes with women. This third gender is so well accepted in Samoan culture that most Samoans state that they have friendship relationships with at least one Fa'afafine. Traditionally Fa'afafine follow the training of a women's daily work in an Aiga.[1][4]
Being a fa'afafine is said to be thoroughly enjoyable by this group. Many would state that they "loved" engaging in feminine activities as children, such as playing with female peers, playing female characters during role play, dressing up in female clothes, and playing with female gender-typical toys. This is in contrast to women who stated that they merely "liked" engaging in those activities as children.[1] Some fa'afafine recall believing they were girls in childhood, but knew better as adults. There is little to no ridicule of or displeasure with a biologically male child who states he is a girl in Samoa. For instance, one study showed only a minority of parents (20%) tried to stop their fa'afafine sons from engaging in feminine behavior. Being pushed into the male gender role is upsetting to many fa'afafine. A significant number stated that they "hated" masculine play, such as rough games and sports, even more than females did as children.[1]

Well, that explains the NCG.

The dude is VERY religious. Remember when it was a big question whether or not he was going to do his 2 years of service to the church before college?
It would surprise me less than hes gay, invented the fake girlfriend to cover up his gayness to his family/teammates, then killed her off when it got out to avoid the media trying to find her, only to have someone find out the truth. Then, the boyfriend took the fall.
That's a lot more believable than the story currently put out.

See... I thought the made up girlfriend was more about creating pathos to boost his standing with the Heisman voters.
ETA:
His grandmother died. His girlfriend died. Look at him leave it all out on the field! Blah blah blah.

I think he rolled with it once he saw it was getting him press. But if he's gay, he killed off the fake girlfriend to avoid the media asking too many questions. Cant ask to meet her if shes dead.
Look at the press Johnny Football and AJ's pieces got?
