UFC 314 Apr 12 Miami -
Volk v Diego Lopes for VACANT featherweight title. Topuria is vacating the title, body can't make the weight, feels he has done all he can do at FW. Dana says as soon as the first punch is thrown, the title is vacated. Once they get Topuria's next fight set up, they'll announce it.
5rd co-main Michael Chandler v Paddy Pimblett
Yair Rodriguez v Petricio Pitbull (UFC debut, current champ in his old promotion so once the first punch is thrown in this fight, his belt is vacated)

Belal v Della Medellana for the WW title (Rakhmonov is injured)

Valentina v Manon Fiorot for the title at 125 flyweight

Related news, not discussed by Dana, Aaron Pico is looking to move over to the UFC. Seems PFL is not honoring his contract with the requisite number of fights, he thinks they are in breach and he wants a chance to move over. I believe he fights at 145.

Paddy is a sneaky good grappler, but I dot think Chandler wants to grapple and will instead bangbwith him and probably win.
If Paddy wins, then he is better than a lot of folks glthink he is.
As for Topuria, he's not getting Dustin, he's getting Islam possibly as early as July. If you're Dana, you don't send a reigning champ into a contender fight with a scrappy legend. You give him the title shot immediately with what areaybe the two best P4P fighters in the world.
Who knows. Islam may want to go to 170 after this.

The UFC doesn’t have to force Topuria on Islam. Islam doesn’t fight that often either.
Making Topuria earn his title shot in LW makes perfect sense.
As the P4P #1, I think you’re more likely to see Islam go fight Belal for the WW title next than see him fight Topuria

the situation with topuria seems kind of weird. if they were going to give him islam next it seems that they would have let him keep the belt to bill it as champ vs champ. also the way dana said in his stream yesterday that "he thinks he did all he can do at 145" didnt seem right. Im not convinced that topuria is going straight to islam. I think its a bad move for him anyway, especially with only a few months to try and bulk up. Islam is a big dude and will wreck topuria IMO.
