TODAY

Bursaspor looks to cause an upset in Turkey which has been historically dominated by Galatasaray, Fenerbache, Trabzonspor, and Besiktas. No other club has even been second since the league started in 1959.

Istanbul Buyuksehir BSK v Bursaspor

SATURDAY

Birmingham-Arsenal
Chelsea-Aston Villa
Hull-Fulham
Spurs-Portsmouth
West Ham-Stoke Zola's Waterloo?
Wolves-Everton hope we don't find a way to blow this...
Bolton-Man Utd

looks like Newcastle and West Brom are back...

Reading-West Brom

Leeds is slipping... pretty not when they want to travel to Norwich. Meanwhile 3rd place Millwall hosts the bottom side of League 1

Norwich-Leeds
Millwall-Stockport County

I wonder if Sol Campbell will care that Notts County did go up... wonder if he's missing out on the fun

Notts County-Rotherham

Luton got deducted 30 points last year and might head back to the "League". Meanwhile AFC Wimbledon might hit a snag in their effort to join their Milton Keynes brothers

Luton-Hayes and Yeading
AFC Wimbledon-Rushden and Diamonds

Mallorca is behind Barcelona by 24 points yet both would be in the Champions League if the season ended today. Meanwhile I don't want to see the Canary Island's gift to soccer relegated.

Mallorca-Barcelona
Malaga-Tenerife
Real Zaragoza-Valencia

A big matchup in Italy... 1 and 2 face each other. Meanwhile Palermo might backdoor into the Champions League, but it could also be a bunch of Bologna.

Inter Milan-AS Roma
Palermo-Bologna

More big matches in Germany...

Bayern Munich-Stuttgart
Bayer Leverkusen-Schalke 04

Coupe de la Ligue Final

Marseille-Bordeaux

No one other than Porto, Sporting, or Benefica has won Portugal...

Benefica-Braga

Gooch's old club is playing in some Belgian playoff and is still alive in Europa...

Standard Liege v Royal Charleroi SC

SUNDAY

Burnley-Blackburn
Liverpool-Sunderland

Whatever Cup final

Carlisle United v Southampton

Villareal-Sevilla
Real Madrid-Atletico Madrid

Juventus has had a terrible year and might miss out on Europe altogether. Always root against Atalanta on principle.

Juventus-Atalanta

Lille v Montpellier

ChalmetteOwl, VERY well done. Concise, managed to capture the essence of the matchups and their significance in each instance. I appreciate the forecast. Keep it up.

I think the Brummies can get a point against Arsenal. Over the few months or so, Arsenal haven't been blowing teams away on the road, they needed last gasp goals against Everton, Stoke, Hull etc and if that trend continues, I can see points being dropped this weekend. Birmingham have proved to be much stronger than many thought, they've managed draws at home to Everton (from 2-0 down), Spurs, Man Utd and Chelsea. Of the teams above them only Villa have gone there and won, and that's a derby. I think this match will tell us a lot about whether Arsenal really can go on to win the title, and I reckon they'll come up short both tomorrow and in the title race.

I expect Chelsea to come through against Villa at home, and Man Utd should be too good for Bolton.

Burnley vs Blackburn may also be a telling match for Burnley's fortunes. Blackburn are safe now, Burnley need to start picking up points from somewhere to pile the pressure on West Ham, and this is the easiest of their last 7 matches, away to Hull will be a dog fight and apart from that they face City, Sunderland (A), Liverpool, Birmingham (A) and Spurs, pretty rough end to the season.

If anyone has a spare 15 minutes, do this predictor

LINK

I got Chelsea winning the league on 87 points, despite losing at OT, Man Utd second with 83, Arsenal 3rd with 79 and Liverpool on 72, 1 point above both City and Spurs.

Their six points ahead of Fulham. I had really thought they'd yo-yo and be in the bottom half. They and West Brom seem to switch spots the last few seasons with one coming up and the other going down. I expected that again this year. They have surprised me, and been a frustration, as I'd hoped FFC could repeat last year's 7th place finish. Birmingham have been too solid to relinquish that place.

Good on Alex McLeish, especially as there was some turmoil when the new owner came in, and the insinuation that McLeish was on borrowed time.

Injuries this year have really hurt. Fulham was injury free last year for the most part last year.

You're right. I hate to make excuses, but I was really upset on Wednesday with the result at White Hart Lane. The supporters I speak to, on Facebook, mentioned that Fulham have played more games, now, than any other side in England, and it's only late March. "We've" already played more than 70 matchs between the Europa League play-in (Vilnius and Amkar Perm,) Europa League, FA Cup, League Cup and the Premiership.

And that's pretty much all you need to know about La Liga and it's strength (or lackthereof).

Hey man, that's really cool.
Just don't tell any Brits. They look down on such wanton treachery.....the club is for life....
But it's cool wit' me.
