Yours truly will be in Hull, England next year for study abroad. I don't want to see some ColaShip footie.

don't look now, but who's 14th?

wolves haven't finished that high since 1980

it is good timing on the schedule to get post-Landon Everton

That's just so incredible to read, in the grand scheme of things. Did you think anything of it when you wrote it? Back in 2006-2007 I never thought I'd see that or agree with it.

It's also pretty overstated.

Everton have been okay without Landon, honestly. But good for Wolves. I really, really like Mick McCarthy, and Wolves are one of my favorite sides to watch. Scrappy, clever, and well organized.

I think Hull stay up. Burnley look done to me, and I honestly think Wigan will drop back and be fighting that relegation zone.

Liverpool is up 1-0 on Sunderland on a 3rd minute goal by Torres.

Probably the cheapest way to get out of Hull, think they take you to London for £9. Save on accommodation by going to a club instead

Mephistopheles, should I fly into Manchester or London? I think the University of Hull recommends Manchester and then take a train to Hull.

I recommend you unleash an onslaught of piss balloons to the facades and faces of many'a Mancunian.

I don't want to create an international incident (maybe just a minor one), nor do I want Europe to know that Yanks actually care about football.

If I were over there I'd dress in some early 90s wrestling outfit and fly the Stars n' Striped from a hilltop every day while 'proud to be an american (lol we beat you in the world cup remix)' plays in a nearby boombox/ipod fixture

TBH I don't really know the north of this country apart from a couple of trips to Manchester. When you live in London (although I actually live in Reading atm) you sort of become ignorant of the geography of everywhere else. If they say Manchester they're probably right, it is a lot closer, there's probably a direct rail link.

ETA: Just as a general tip, obviously it's quite hard to get Arsenal tickets and they ain't cheap, but I got into a league cup match for £10 last year at the Emirates, against WBA, decent seats too, was in the lower tier at about the 18 yard line. I think the third round of the league cup is about the same time as most uni courses start. Obviously Wenger likes to play his kids in the cup matches, but it's still a decent opportunity to watch a game.

I figure I'll go down to London at least once. I'm praying Hull can avoid relegation and I'll get to see Hull vs. Arsenal in Hull along with any other match that seems enticing/cheap.

Red Bulls beat Fire 1-0 but the keeper who made his debut for the Fire is the reason I quit soccer in the 9th grade. I guess it was a good decision to focus on something else.
