So what true freshmen have made the "most impact" in 2008?

I've gotta go with this top 5 in no particular order...
Terrelle Pryor, Ohio State: Eventually overtook the starting QB job from Todd Boeckman and has shown multiple flashes of his potential. He's got a very strong arm albeit with funky mechanics/delivery and is a man amongst boys when he takes off and runs.
Julio Jones, Alabama: He has been a physical specimen from day one. Incredible hands, fearless coming across the middle, and has shown a glimpse of his blocking ability.
A.J. Green, Georgia: UGA's best receiver this season. Great hands, runs routes very well, and has a crazy vertical to go up and get balls.
Janoris Jenkins, Florida: Has started at cornerback this season for UF. Can run well, good open field tackler, and good closing speed.
Patrick Peterson, LSU: Has absolutely been a bright spot for a Tiger defense that has had a very down year in 2008. He is a physical specimen. He's a ball hawk, a ferocious tackler in the open field, and has showed some elite closing speed. Took over the starting CB job from Jai Eugene in the Arkansas game.

I don't think many would argue with your top 5, but I would have Griffin from Baylor somewhere in there as well.

Peterson has shown he will be great, but in terms of production right now, I would replace him with DeAndre Brown at Southern Miss

Only thing with DeAndre is that he's a Julio type talent playing in a Ricky Dixon type conference.

yeah Brown at Southern Miss and Griffin at Baylor are definitely in the discussion

I love how the original poster posted a picture of everyone making good plays and Petersen's getting burned in his picture.
Kind of a sign that he doesn't belong there, huh?

That Julio picture is sick.

I am adding one more to the mix..IMO Jaquizz Rodgers has my pick for the best true freshman of 2008.
Maybe you remember this game against USC. 186 rushing yards and 2 TDs in that game.

he actually broke into the starting lineup the week before, nobody made that big a deal about it. I don't think he's top 5 though. Rodgers def has him beat.

Boise States QB is a True freshmen I beleive, and he lead them to an undefeated season. Hes not the best, but definitely top 10.

the other pictures are of people making plays in games? really?

Yeah I forgot about Quizz. He put up big numbers against some pretty good teams before he got injured. 99 and 2 TDs against Penn St, 186 against and 2 TDs against USC, and 101 and TD against Utah

Have to agree with 4 of the 5. I'd replace Peterson with Jaquizz. Peterson will be great, but hasn't been as productive as the others this year.

What a homer pick. Not only did he not start the entire year, but I'm pretty sure he had all of zero picks.

Wrong on TP. Showing flashes of being good is not good enough when he had that supporting group of veterans. Now RG from Baylor is the head of this class.
