I have one story about best of acadiana. I worked at a place that had a bakery chef. He had an award winning 16 ingredient carrot cake that finished second to Ryan's vanilla pudding. The chef was feeling low about the 2nd place finish so he called the Ryan's and spoke to a manager. He asked if possible could he have the recipe to the award winning pudding. The response was,"You just add water." It was jello instant pudding.

It think it not being open on sundays has something to do with the percentage of food vs liquor sales. Same reason the Fox and the Hound is the only one in the country that doesn't open on sundays.
