They think it's gimmicky.

It will move to the New City Park course in a few years, fact.

There really isn't much deep rough on the entire course.

How does it rank to La Tour?

Then we can start talking about fan space.

This is a big issue with TPC La to me. TPC courses are supposed to be designed with fans in mind. This course is absolutely awful when it comes to spectator viewing. Most of the greens are built up so the fans are standing below the level of the green making it harder to see. The few places where they built hills for fans to stand, they put skyboxes. This isn't a course design flaw, but, the ropes are set back way too far in a lot of places around greens, and some tee boxes aren't even accessible to fans. Personally, I can't wait for this tourney to move to a different venue. Hopefully the city doesn't frick up the new city park course.

I have never heard the word manicured and well in the same sentence when people talk about the course. Its the goat ranch of the tour.

It didn't look bad after a ton of rain. I was surprised at how well it recovered today.

Actually, Vegas....TPC in Louisiana was ranked the 8th worst.LINK

I was shocked Torrey Pines North and Cog Hill on the list. I know there is a poster who is an assistant pro at Dove Run, he will be disappointed to see his course ranked up there as not the favorite as well.

The annonymous comment seems more of a compliment to Pete Dye

Absolutely. I don't like to judge courses from TV, but it looked pretty bad today (as far as tour courses go).

Reading through that slideshow, most of the comments were good things about the course. It was confusing.

I have played on many Dye courses from Vegas, Indiana (Brickyard, French Lick) and bunch in Kentucky...I have to say, the one in Louisiana is one of my favorites Dye course...Brickyard at the Indy Motor Speedway is up there as well,

The course didn't look as bad in person as on TV, but the weather wasn't the best either

I agree with this. Being there one day and then watching the next round on TV, I thought someone had fricked the course up overnight. It is pretty strange how it looks so much worse on TV than it does in person.

Well, by tour standards, I am sure any course in Louisiana would not rank so well.

That's why I don't like to judge from the TV, but you know that Joe Blow, the average Sunday TV watcher, will spit out his beer and say how the local muni course has better greens than that.

Maybe I need to take my turfgrass talents to TPC LA when I graduate.

Well, the "top guys" have never played the Zurich Classic, so if they're commenting on the course during tournament time, it's all based on hearsay.

What I find funny of the list, Cog Hill was ranked 7th worst...but I thought the USGA was trying like hell to get the US Open there, the problem is the owner did not want the USGA going in a totally changing the course to trek it up for Open standards,
