Its hard to paint rice as a victim since his immature actions led to this, but espn just literally ruined his career by siding with a disgruntled former employee.
Not a single player complained about coach rice, even when interviewed about the incidents.
The video espn has been showing was taken over the course of 3 years with only the bad parts left in, none of the teaching or encouraging of his team.
Its sad that rutgers had no choice but to fire him, he wouldve never been able to recruit again with all this out there and other coaches using it against him.

I hope Bernie Fine's lawsuit gets as much airtime as his persecution on ESPN.
Good luck with that.
Did we get an apology when they said that Mickey Loomis wiretapped the Superdome?

Mike Rice inspired me to watch dodgeball.
if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.

Kind of like NBC and the Zimmerman/Trayvon edit. Our current media, and with ESPN being the leader in the sports media, are more about creating stories and shaping them to fit their agenda than they are about reporting stories.

According to a recent article in S.Illustrated, ESPN had $6 billion in subscription revenue & $3 billion in ad revenue last yr. Overall, it is a $42 billion dollar company. That is a lot of money to be used to purchase control over sports. Its president was listed as the 3rd most powerful "commissioner" in sports, Goodell being #1. But if this coach came into your room to recruit your son, would you let him in the door?

My 11-12 yr old football coach called us all a "bunch of pussies" at halftime one game.

This is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Of course not. Thats another problem all in itself. They don't even hold themselves accountable. They dont have anyone outside to hold them accountable. So what are their repercussions? Nothing. They can literally smear anyone and everyone because NO ONE holds them accountable. Sure the Dan Patricks of the world try to, but lets be honest where does his audience equate to that of ESPN? Its a fraction.

Hell just heard on "The Heard" the guy was kicking players, throwing balls at their heads, etc. WTF.
Ok what if a player did that, he'd be off the team.
Let someone do that to my kid or family member, they'll have problems with me, frick the school or NCAA. No reason to kick players, throw balls hitting them in the head, wtf.

Yes, because I am smart enough to realize that all the things he is accused of doing is; A. blown out of proportion from ESPN and B. I would know that its all edited to look bad so ESPN can get viewers.
If I took all the bad shite my high school football coach did and edited it into a 4-5 minute video people would think he was a fricking monster, but anyone who was involved would know the guy was a dick sometimes, but overall wasnt a terrible dude. Its alllllll about perception, and ESPN knows that.

Have you watched the video? Or did you just let Colin "Douchebag" Cowherd shape your opinion?

Blah blah blah, whatever you say lebron.
NONE OF THE PLAYERS HAD ISSUES WITH IT!!!!!
oh and by the way, the former employee that has been all over espn, tried to blackmail rutgers for $1mil to not release the tape.

I had a football coach tell me once "You are the worst football player I have ever seen play this game. You fricking suck!"
If someone would have heard that, they would have thought he was an awful person. He didnt bench me, so obviously it was an attempt to motivate.
But I was pretty bad.

Have you seen the video? He kicked a player in the butt while moving him into a better postion. Truthfully, while standing right next to the guy, do you really think he kicked him very hard? He could barely get his foot up high enough to reach the kid's butt.

Your kid or family member isn't forced to play on this guy's team.
My manager was Roger Hornsby, and he called me a flying pile of pig shite, and that was when my parents drove all the way from Michigan to watch me play the game. And did I cry? No. And you know why I didn't cry?

Because there is no crying in baseball?
