But they did beat Ohio State for that title. But a title is a title; no one cares about how you got there.

I agree which was my point. It’s just that some idiots can’t stand it.

LSU was ranked number 2 at the end of the year to play for the championship in 2007.

Ohio State is the number 8 team.

Ouch!

Oh and don’tt forget that LSU team beat the shite out of Ohio State in 2007.

Drops mic and walks away. Game over!!!

I’m neither pro-Ohio State nor anti-Ohio State, but this game sucks unless you’re an OSU fan.

And save for a few nice moments, this playoffs has been less than exciting. If LSU was doing this, this board would be talking about how great this is.

I remember LSU kicking the ever-lovin’ shite out of then #1 Ohio st in 2007.

Left no doubt.

UGA would have made this a much better game.

If they had a QB, maybe. Texas played OSU fairly close, but OSU made a ton of mistakes too.

Gonna be the new norm in college football unless some form of governance actually gets put into place.

The 12 team playoff exists to protect the big boys. The SMUs and Boise states are just there to create the illusion of a national sport.

Howard is a very average QB but OSU has STUDS on offense. Future top five pick at WR. Egbuka is a round 2 or 3 guy. Two RBs that are potentially round 1 or 2 guys.

The amount of talent on this OSU team is impressive and has shown in the playoff.

Most top 20 wins in history :) more than lsu or whoever you root for

Conf Championship Game plus 4 Playoff Games will do that, and teams mashed together into big conferences. I bet that record gets beat or tied almost yearly going forward.

That being said, Ohio State's top 20 wins are:

7 Notre Dame
5 Texas
1 Oregon
9 Tennessee
3 Penn State
5 Indiana
and a loss to the only other ranked team, 3 Oregon in regular season.

1-1 against ranked teams in regular season. Had a great run in the playoffs, no doubt. But let's not pretend they played some juggernaut schedule prior to postseason.

Ok I can agree to
A point, but winning when it matters the most is the objective.

True. While not maybe completely comparable, look at that 1988 49ers team.

6-5 to start the season.
5-1 the rest of the regular season, sitting their starters in the last game, which was their one loss. Barely won the division at 10-6 to get into the playoffs.
Beat the shite out of the Vikings and Bears in the playoffs to a SB win.

Went on the next season to have one of the best years ever, 14-2 and then beating the crap out of every post season opponent.

14-2 the next year running through the NFL again, until upset by the Giants in the NFC Champ game.

A hell of a run for a team that was 6-5 at one point in ‘88 and looking at not making the playoffs. When they finally put it all together, they became a juggernaut.

I'm sure OSU fans won't complain about a natty but this team lost to their biggest rival (who was down this year) at home. Really waters it down...
