Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is being challenged by Jermell Charlo for the Super Middleweight titles Alvarez owns at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Charlo is jumping up 2 weight classes to take on the tough, hard hitting Mexican fighter for his titles.

May be a pretty close fight early on with Charlo being more fleet-footed than Alvarez, but I can't see Charlo holding off the power of Alvarez for the entire fight.

My thought is Alvarez stops Charlo in the late rounds after pounding him with hard body shots during the fight.

Going up 2 weight classes is a hard ask for any fighter, especially when going against a proven champion like Alvarez has been at that weight.

Should be good while it lasts though.

I’ll be purchasing it. Charlo jumping up two weight classes to 168 against Canelo that’s fought at 185 makes me feel like Canelo will make quick work of him. Charlo is taller with demonstrated power at 154. Hoping it’s a good fight

Will be buying. Gonna be a good fight because Charlo is no slouch… dude is there to throw some hands.
Canelo has been looking like he is on a SLIGHT decline recently. Maybe he just needed a big fight to get him in the right mindset again?

That, to me, is the worst part of MMA. Their stand-up boxing is almost always pretty lacking, but they do employ other offensive and defensive techniques, some better than others.

But that laying on the mat, entwined like they're in some sort of primitive mating ritual is cringe to me.

How Dana White got legions of meat heads to follow something so homoerotic is a real feat of marketing genius.

The golden age of boxing was the 50's - 80's. Been downhill ever since

I’ve always believed that you can like both sports, and I do. Bottom line… I’m going to watch two guys fight.

But this is the worst part of UFC. Christ, man. I don’t see how anyone can complain about boxing being boring when they will sit through the “ground game” of a UFC bout like it’s something exciting.

The Golden Age of boxing goes way farther back than the 50's, but I do agree, it's has lost a lot since the late 80's/early 90's as more and more so-called champions started fighting more to protect their loss column than actually facing the best in their respective divisions.

As a long time boxing fan, I long for the days of Leonard, Hearns, Hagler, Duran types in the lighter weights and Ali, Foreman, Holmes, Frazier, Norton, etc. in the heavier weights.

Those guys fought each other and they are now in the Boxing Hall of Fame for their efforts even though they beat hell out of each other in the ring and suffered losses.

Then you've obviously never seen either of these two guys fight. Trust me, there will be many punches thrown as both these guy have very good KO ratios, and that don't happen if you don't hit someone.

Floyd Mayweather and Wladimir Klitschko made me give up watching their fights because they were so boring.

I can vividly remember Klitschko's trainer, Manny Stewart pleading with him between rounds to just go out and hit the opponent instead of the jab, hug, jab, hug fest he employed so many times in his fights. I could hear the frustration in his voice as he pleaded with Wlad to get the fight over with.

Guess his time with Tommy "The Hit Man" Hearns spoiled Manny for great offensive fighters.

But it’s ok for y’all to stereotype every single UFC fight(er)?

Come on man. Unless it's a quick stoppage, those guys and gals WILL wind up on the mat tangled up like 2 mating snakes and usually stay there until the round ends or the ref makes them stand back up to continue.
