He has to make more money to keep that hot piece of arse. That is why he came back to coaching.

Everybody being apologetic towards him saying “well he deserves his private life/ he’s inherited a bad roster” is ridiculous. UNC isn’t good but they shouldn’t be the worst team in the ACC, they’re a historically decent program. Then you have his 20 year old power tripping gf running around the sideline talking to the ACC commisioner and shite. Then you have reports this week that he took the bye week off to go on vacation. It’s a terrible and embarassing look and he’s absolutely ruining his legacy.

He’s old as shite, nothing that is transpiring in the year 2025 should be used to judge Belichick’s career as a whole.

70+ years old, 20 year old gf, already reached the greatest heights the profession offers and now coaching entitled children that don’t have a 1/8 of the ability, aptitude and fortitude that you coached for 40+ years

The itch of coaching again > practicality of coaching again, especially in modern college football.

Then again, maybe he just needs more time

So is the concensus Belichick can’t coach at the college level or just DGAF?

1. I don’t think he’s as hungry and focused as he was 25 years ago when he went to the Pats. Probably an understatement.

2. I don’t think his personality is a good fit for college.Charisma and people skills are more important in college and that’s not Belichick’s forte.

3. Having younger, less experienced players with less time to coach them up than he had in the NFL limits how sophisticated he can be defensively.

If the average CFB DC is a 7/10 on defensive knowledge, and Belichick is a 10/10, but players are only capable of learning up to a 5-6 level (especially with the lack of continuity with the portal) then it doesn’t really matter if you’re a 10/10 defensively. That knowledge and creativity is wasted on players that can’t absorb it like Mike Vrabel, Teddy Bruschi, Rodney Harrison, etc., could in his NFL prime.

4. The biggest problem is UNC clearly doesn’t have shite for talent. I don’t follow that closely enough to know how much of the blame rests with Belichick - probably a good bit - but I know they aren’t going to win anything unless they get a lot better players one way or another.

For being a legendary coach that should have as many connections as possible, his staff is by far the biggest failure. There's literally only 3 coaches on staff that would be considered college football coaching lifers and probably the most decorated of those is coaching out of position. Most of the position coaches have one year or less experience in their job at the FBS level.
