Why would the acc refs give two shits about bama?
Why would college football give two shits about the ACC when it can have Bama?

There's a bigger picture at play here.

A G5 team has to get in

On paper no, but in function yes. They took away the automatic spot for a G5 teams in the playoff rules. What they wrote in was instead an automatic qualifier for the 5 highest ranked conference winners. That was before the Pac12 melted down.

The intent was to leave the G5 out, but since the Pac12 went defunct, it handed an automatic bid to the smaller conferences.

Pretty sure it was top 6 AQ before PAC went defunct. When they did, it was altered down to 5.

It was. The intent was always to have at least one G5.

If they didn’t throw the G5 a bone, they would have an antitrust lawsuit served up.

I can't shake my hunch that Bama is in, no matter what happens.
