This thread makes me wonder if the PTB will ever move the Rose Bowl game away from the stadium. It happened to the Orange Bowl and Cotton Bowl stadiums, and those stadiums weren’t lacking for history.
I think you can make an argument that at the time it was torn down in 2008 that the Orange Bowl was the scene of more football history than any other stadium. It hosted five Super Bowls, including some very significant ones like Jets-Colts and Cowboys-Steelers twice. It was the home field of two Super Bowl champions (including the famous 1972 Dolphins) and five national champions (including 2001 Miami). You could make a reasonable argument that the OB was the home field of both the greatest NFL and college team of all time. The Dolphins’ upset of the 1985 Bears is perhaps the most memorable Monday Night game (or even regular season game) ever played. And then you have all those classic Orange Bowl games when Oklahoma and Nebraska were in their Big 8 heyday and the national title was often on the line.
If they can tear down the Orange Bowl and the original Yankee Stadium, I think they can move the Rose Bowl game. And UCLA can certainly move on.

but the facility itself is a dump. There are no suites or any other frills
98% of the fans aren’t sitting in a suite, so I doubt they care about how many there are.

It’s not just suites, it’s premium seating of any kind, plus their seats are old and far away from the field. It’s a terrible stadium. Any dumbass clinging to it because of “mountains” needs to pull the buttplug out of their arse and take their wife on a vacation to the Rockies instead of going to a football game.

e San Gabriel Mountains as a backdrop,
My crew wants as well. We purposely sat on UCLA side to savor the view. And the shade.

Again…premium seating doesn’t bother ME personally. I ain’t gonna be the one sitting in them
Concessions also…I do my eating and drinking at a tailgate. I may need a water or something, but I think it’s funny when people at LSU games are up in arms about the concessions when you have the best tailgating in the country.
