What a strange first game he had this season He will have his ERA down around 2 by the end of the year.

He was pitching a little too deep in the zone and gave up some hits. The only thing strange is that O'neil Cruz dropped two balls that a little leaguer could catch and kept the Mets going in the inning. If he catches those Skenes probably goes into the dugout having given up two runs and then pitches into the 5th inning.

You’re right, didn’t realize Pitt scored 2 in first. So it would have been 2-1.

Rain delay caused his day to be cut short, but he pitched 4 innings of shutout ball, giving up just 3 hits while striking out 5.

In his last four starts, he’s been dominant:

21 1/3 innings, only 9 hits and 3 earned runs allowed, with 5 walks and 22 strikeouts

That’s an ERA of 1.27 and a WHIP of 0.656

Current season ERA is now 3.27, down from the 67.50 ERA he had after game 1

Almost like he's an elite pitcher or something.

Skenes went 7 innings tonight, gave up a single hit, zero runs, zero walks, and struck out 7

Last 5 starts:

28 1/3 innings, only 10 hits and 3 earned runs allowed, with 5 walks and 29 strikeouts

That’s an ERA of 0.95 and a WHIP of 0.529

Current season ERA is now 2.48, down from the 67.50 ERA he had after game 1

Cruz made a good throw to 3B and the Pirates 3B was sloppy with the tag. From that one inning, Skenes can now relate to our '26 LSU team.

Kinda like the Cubs did with Sosa in the late 90s-early 2000s.

Sosa was an a**hole. He told the out field coach to f*ck off.

" they pay me to hit HR's, not field", he told him.

Not a team player, just a self absorbed jerk.

Skenes went 8 scoreless innings tonight, giving up just 2 hits, walking none, and striking out 10. Had a no hitter into the 7th.

We need to discuss Skenes decline. 52 years from now he'll be at an ERA of 2.50. Worrisome trend.
