As a HUGE NHL fan for nearly two decades, I'm happy that Crosby got his trophy. It was quite obvious that Crosby and his line were becoming the "Dewayne Wades" of the NHL. I'm hoping that since the Pens won one, the NHL can go back to officiating games a bit more....fair when the Pens are on the ice.
I'm giving the sport one more year, and if I continue to see the same favoritism given to the likes of Crosby and his crew, I'm going to tune out, just as I did with the NBA nearly two decades ago.
And no, I'm not saying the Pens beat Detroit because of the refs. I refused to watch any playoffs this year after the team I follow was booted. Yes, I'm admitting to being a pussy about it. GFY if you don't like it.

For those of you who don't follow hockey, this is like Moses breaking one of the Ten Commandments. Seriously.
Hell, the most vicious post-season series I ever saw was between Detroit and Colorado when Claude Lemieux damn near ended Chris Draper's life with a horrible cross check. Despite this cheapshot, Draper still shook Lemieux's hand after the series.
Crosby is a complete douchebag. If you followed hockey, you would have known this already.
ETA: Anyone remember how many stiches to the face Draper had to get for that hit? If I remember right, it was well over 50 plus on the outside of his face, and roughly 20 inside his mouth....and he still shook hands with the guy.

The point is, if Crosby didn't shake EVERY member of the Wings squad's hand, it's not the sin the people are making it out to be.
We don't know exactly what happened, so the crucify him based on biased heresay is extremely unfair.

Ok, now that IS possible. The camera wasn't on him the whole time.
But I definitely saw him in the handshake line after the game. And just to be sure, I paid attention when the NHLN replayed it this afternoon.

I know it's a tradition, and I also know when something is overblown. It was already stated he was out there. It's not like he bailed and went into the lockerroom. Tradition also doesn't exempt people from being dicks. I'm not saying what Sid did was right, but I'm also not gonna say he was in the wrong. He had a reason for doing it. And unitl any of us are in his shoes on that ice, we have no business judging him. Sorry, but the little pussies on this board who get bent out of shape over some alleged breaking of a tradition (which is not the biggest tradition in all of hockey) have no business even throwing out blind accusations.

Yes, I do. I just know that things change. Games change, etc, etc. frick, traditions change. If he felt justified in doing what people THINK he did, then so be it. I will give him the benefit of the doubt. The fact that Draper and Lemieux shook hands means nothing to me. Does that make them more manly? Not necessarily. This is all opinion. So if your opinion differs from mine, so be it...to each his own...

And also, don't know if anybody mentioned it, but there was a thread started (I think by Mikey) talking about the Wings fans booing, and I went back and watched the end and handshakes, and I think this is what they were booing. I know they cheered when they began the handshakes, and then Crosby wouldn't go in line, and they started booing.

Detroit and Colorado are what piqued my interest in hockey in the late 90s. I'd never seen a game where the teams start fighting immediately after the first face-off of the game before those two!

The audio was on Coach babcock as he congratulate Asid Crosby. The Detroit fans are quite savvy to hockey tradition. If Crosby pulled the pecker move than he deserved it.
And for anyone thinking the Pens fans were receiving of Detroit's win last year on their ice you are greatly mistaken.

The Red Wings and their fans are the biggest Pieces of shite in sports. I've had season tickets to the Lighting for some time and the worst fans by far are the Wings.
Crosby was shown in the line after the game so not sure why they are crying except that it is second nature to them.

Sounds to me like the Kid shook everyone's hand that actually stayed on the ice long enough for the Pens to finish celebrating. Whining like a bitch because the other guy didn't run over right away and shake your hand is pussified. You celebrated on their ice last year, wait your arse over in the corner for them to finish celebrating on your ice this time and shake the damn guys's hand when he does come over.

If someone got their panties in a wad cuz they lost the game and felt like they were too good to wait for all of the other players to shake hands, then screw em.
