Yeah, go ahead and include them.

Take the best team in Korea and pit them vs. the St. Louis Cardinals and their pitching staff.

Korea taps out in 2.

Stupid fricking thread is ridiculous.

Bobby V was quite adamant that the best team in Japan could compete with the best teams in MLB. of course, Bobby V was also managing in Japan at the time

Go look up Japan's rosters.

They pick up american baseball players from Independent leagues or also-rans who just can't make it in the minors anymore. Can't even hack it in the States so they go play in Japan.

Manny Ramirez is playing in Tokyo (I think it is) and is a superstar there.

Tiawan. Not sure if his superstar status is a result of stats or name recognition.

Bobby V is a fricking moron. Source: bobby V's track record.

There is absolutely no way any regular team in Japan could compete with the cardinals or the Yankees or any halfway decent team in the mlb.

Actually, I'd go so far as to say team Japan wouldn't fair very well against a good mlb team...regular team chemistry vs. team USA or all star team chemistry makes it a whole different ballgame

True.

Not sure how that's relevant.

Unless the MLB team wouldn't be able to play with all their Latino talent that gets spread out at WBC time. Or if pitchers would be on limits and the best players didn't play full games. If we add those rules the NPB team might have a chance.

Just to be clear, you think that based on the WBC and the fact that Japan won that, that an NPB team could beat an MLB team. Not in one of those 1 in a 100 situations either, but that they'd stand a decent chance if they played?

Because their national team, where they take all the japaneese players they have in the MLB and combine them with the best NPB players beat Cuba and South Korea?

and what usually happens after a WBC...the world leanrs of one above average NPB player and he then is posted and an MLB team picks him up.

It is a world series because the best players from all over the world play in the MLB. MLB teams would wax those Japanese teams.

when did I say that? don't just jump to strawman arguments.

I'm saying they have the talent to be able to contribute players and build a team. I'm not saying expand the MLB to include every single NPB team.

if Japan had a team, would they be denied the free agent pool or the trade market? no, they could have their best players from Japan and then there would be an expansion draft.

Alright so take out the best players from the MLB because they obviously are already on a team. Oh and it is not the NPB All stars it is a single team from the NPB. Now if you took the all stars from the NPB, sure they could win a couple of games, but no way they win a 7 game series.

A champions league style tournament would be cool. Tokyo Giants vs SF Giants!? Or Hamfighters vs Detroit Tigers?
