Not going to work for baseball. The real contenders for the Champions League are usually from leagues of near equal quality (Spain, Germany, England, Italy, France-ish). There is no league in the world that is even close to MLB. The best MLB Teams would murder the best Japanese/Korean team. A more competitive matchup would be against the best AAA teams.

Ahh so if we change everything they could compete? Of course if we made them the equivelent of an MLB team then an MLB team equivalent could compete with an MLB team.
So I'll restate my argument. An NPB team would get destroyed by an MLB team.

how are we changing anything? if a team is to play in the MLB World Series, they would have to be an MLB team. anything other than that and you're talking about the WBC, not MLB.

I tend to agree, but it's baseball. the way those japs can pitch, you never know.

I don't want to do semantics. Thats a fools errand. The gist of this tread is clearly should other countries teams as they exist be allowed to play in a true "world series" hence teh discussion of the champions league.
