I'm not saying salary cap is needed for parity but rather so that players get more of the revenue

Absolutely no salary cap, they should raise the minimum salary by a lot. It comes in waves. The ridiculous free agent class of 2018 will set the new standards for contracts.

MLB players get 43% of revenue as opposed to 47% for nfl players and 49-51% for nba players
Guaranteed unlimited contracts are more important. Both NBA and NFL would trade for that in a heartbeat

NBA players also have guaranteed money and they can make big bucks quicker in their career. Also once the nba cap spikes, their superstar will be making >= mlb superstars. Also in 2017 and on teams like charlotte, milwaukee, indiana, and other small market teams will be forced pay out $100 million just to hit the salary floor meaning every player will be eating and not just guys on big market teams

They should redo the rookie scale and the arbitration process.

Yeah, it takes too long for players to reach free agency in baseball. Lots of players never make it to the big paydays.

The NBA union would trade what they have for unlimited contracts in heartbeat

Think about all of the players that flame out before free agency due to lack of skill, injury, etc.

Just from a Braves perspective, guys like Beachy, Medlen, Jurrjens, Hanson, Minor, etc all had promising starts but careers flamed out before they were able to make it through arbitration. For their sake, it would have been nice to lockup some guaranteed money with their initial success and not toil through arbitration.

No but they should strike again until they get 50% of the revenue

I wouldn't mind it. It would make it more even as far as pay roll. And like someone said, it would force the teams that actually do have money to spend it and not hoard it.

The Braves had around 110$ mil salary when they first got the Uptons and were shelling out big contracts to everyone. They'll be fine despite the tv deal, especially when they go to Cobb County. If the Braves found a way, so can everyone.

Hell even the Rays (who are the AL team I root for) could be in the 80-90$ mil in pay roll if they got the hell out of St Petersberg and Tropicana.

It was a good one, but what most people don't know is they own ZERO parking. The city of Atlanta owns all of the parking lots at the TED. That's a ton of revenue to lose out on yearly.

The cap floor is another problem. What do you set the cap at? 150 million? So teams have to spend at least 135 million but can only go over that floor by 15 million ?

Set it at 200? Floor of 180? That doesn't give teams any wiggle room at the cap level. It will get the players paid because teams will be shelling out an 2 or 3 million, maybe more per player to get to the floor. But it doesn't help the sport at all. Sometimes teams through no necessary fault of their own get in a situation where they are a mediocre team and just can't get the players. You want them to have to spend a bunch of money for nothing?

Bryce Harper will probably sign a 35mil/year contract at a minimum, so I doubt it.

Also the NBA HAS to have a salary cap. You can already buy your way to a championship without one, because one player has such a large effect. You can't really spend your way to a championship in baseball. Just ask the dodgers.
