I wish Houston could cut the McNair family.

The Texans lost me when they cut jungleboi swag

Is that all they need to do? So simple, wonder why they won't just commit to winning.

If anything he is the type of player that someone like Belichick would trade or release, but Houston won't do that because he is the face of the franchise. He is expensive, injured often with back issues and on the tail end of his career. Still a valuable player, but his best days are far behind him.

The reason that team has struggled is the defense... the offense is ranked 4th in the league, while the defense is 14th. And Obrien has been terrible at the ends of games. It has more to do with holes in the secondary vs Watt, but their DL is not getting to the QB enough either. When you have Clowney and Watt and you are average as far as sacks, it means those guys are not healthy or performing to their potential.

Are y’all aware that JJ Watt was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Month this year along with Khalil Mack in the NFC?

Y’all are talking like he’s injured and sucks.

Offense has also put up 30 points once this season and it was against the cults

Gone 20,17,22 and 19

They are great between the 20s but arse in the red zone

if JJ ever wants to seriously have a chance to contend for a ring he just needs to go 348 miles east otherwise he'll continue to rot away in houston

seems he's content to do that

Watt signed that huge extension a couple of years ago and then immediately started having serious injuries. He feels a sense of guilt for 'stealing' from the Texans and is focused on having a full season of health this year.

I'm guessing he is committed to the Texans through the end of 2019. If he stays healthy and still wants to play, then it may be a valid question at that time.

Also worth noting that the Texans have a new GM now. By end of 2019, it may be much more clear if the franchise is still battling mediocrity or if they are able to compete with the top dogs of the AFC. O'Brien also signed an extension but appears to be the weak link holding the franchise back at the moment.

I think only the stupid would be upset if he left to chase a ring at the end of his contract.

Dude bought enough goodwill after Harvey to last a life time.

Houston does have a ton of really dumb sports fans

Choosing Watt over O’Brien is an easy choice. O’brien Is terrible, and personally I don’t think Watt is in the GOAT discussion.

I’d be suprised if BOB was the head coach in week 10 for the Bye.

If they lose this week I think he’s toast.

What the fricking frick.

He’s been one of the best defensive players in the NFL this season, maybe even a close 2nd to Mack

At this point I would choose any significant player over BoB. Huge JJ fan but I agree. He'd have to get back up to his old self (which it appears he may be doing) and sustain it for a few years to enter the conversation. The two injuries really derailed the GOAT train.
