Neal Brown is supposedly the front runner

If we do get him hopefully he brings in someone that can recruit our traditional grounds

Morgantown is beautiful too. I enjoyed my trip there.

From what I've read Neal Brown-Troy, Luke Fickell-Cincinatti, and Tony Gibson- Current DC are the top candidates.

Most fans think promoting Gibson would be a disaster and I agree but I think keeping him on staff would make the bleeding of recruits not so bad this year.

Isn’t there some unspecified off the field stuff that has slowed down Neal Browns ability to get a bigger job?

WV and Arkansas have a lot of similarities as jobs I think. Beautiful places with passionate fanbases and clearly motivated to win but kind of isolated recruiting wise which makes it tough.

I’d be ecstatic with Luke Fickell esp for recruiting

I think Fickell is a solid choice and would work well for our area. People are worried he'll go to Ohio State as soon as it opens but I think Matt Campbell is Ohio State's next guy.

Brown seems to be riskier, higher upside but he could flop.

Fickell already went the OSU route. Don’t think that’s something their fan base would be happy with.

Depends on Day obviously. He’s young and that’s a high profile job with pretty insane expectations and he doesn’t have a resume to defend himself if it doesn’t go perfectly to start.

Even with a 10-11 win season next year, if he was to drop a game to Michigan for example I think OSU uppers would start looking around nervously.

You look at the land scape in general and it’s more likely any new hire will be fired within 3 years than it is that they’ll be there for a long arse run. Patience isn’t really CFBs strong suit

Texas won't let that happen. Would cut into their recruiting and Houston has a poor following. Big 12 already has 4 Texas schools. They aren't going to take Houston unless they get a big school at #11 and I don't see that happening.

The Big 12 doesn’t want Coog High. They’ve made it clear. They don’t need Coog High either for the market

I was always under the impression that he didn’t really love it there. I remember him ripping the fans for not showing up to whatever game it was after LSU in 2011 and said basically “look at LSU they had 90,000 in the stands for Kentucky, that’s a real program”

Serious question because a buddy and I were discussing this, but what are the states that WVU primarily recruits out of historically? I honestly don't know. We assumed Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

#1- PA
#2-#4 Maryland, Ohio, and Virginia
#5-#6 Florida and New Jersey/NYC area

We currently have Doug Belk on staff who was working on inroads into Georgia but some say Dana might take him.
