McCafferey is a non factor. I think Peters embraces the competition, takes his game to a new level and wins the job.

if you think that family didn’t got a guarantee that job would be handed to Shea, you’re high....but I forget who I’m responding to

its been highly rumored that the school who would get patterson would have to hire his brother. just like OM did to get him out of high schoo

His brother must not have much pride if he allows himself to be a pawn in a game like that. How can he look himself in the eye and show up for work everyday knowing that the only reason he was brought onboard was because they wanted his little brother? Jeez, have some self respect, man..

How they have not got nailed for some sort of recruiting violation I do not know as his dad and brother seem to use him and his talents to better their life. Uprooted from TX to Shreveport for a "Job" that when the certain high school Shea was attending started to have serious financial problems just happened to "not be re-newed". Well all of a sudden his dad uproots the family (no job mind you) to move to sunny Fl so shea can attended school there with the cam newtons of the world. His brother was hired by Arizona and shea commits. Then de commits. Shea commits to LSU and his brother is hired on there. And then again de commits, then turns to ole miss. and mysteriously, his brother is hired by Ole miss. I guess there is. I rule against that however it throws up red flags in my book.

I'm wondering what kind of job the UM alums gave Mr. Patterson

He would have to improve markedly imo to beat out Patterson after watching both play.

The guy who runs mgoblog is a really bright dude and not a hot take dork at at all, but he thinks Patterson is way overrated and basically a meh Tate Forcier freelancer.

I agree. I expect Shea to win the job easily. Peters is an average player, IMO. This will allow Mccaffrey another year to bulk up and be ready to go in 2019.

He's a good QB but isn't someone that can change a program like the recruiting services thought he was. He isn't taller than 6'1 and he is maybe 180 pounds. Biggest issue he has is he doesn't take what the defense gives him and isn't comfortable in the pocket. If his first two reads aren't there he likes to scramble outside of the pocket instead of letting the play develop. The biggest difference in him and Ta'amu is Ta'amu has lot better pocket awareness and knew when to use his legs. Shea does have arm talent but people that think he is an NFL QB are crazy. If Shea doesn't start his dad will burn Michigan to the ground. Shea's father thought he should've started over Swag Kelly last year.
