To be fair Luka has never won an MVP and he’s consistently out with calf injuries. He didn’t even make the all star game this year.

Agree with the rest of your post about
the lakers pivoting.

1. People are HIGHLY underrating Anthony Davis

Davis is obviously very good. But he is what he is. He’s a very good defensive big that can also score at will when paired with a good guard. Probably a basketball hall of famer with a good few years left.

But he’s 31 with a long long long injury history. And a big in a guard league.

Luka is fricking LUKA. You can’t even remotely compare the two.

If Luka goes on Ozempic he’s basically the best player in the nba.

I don’t understand why Harrison didn’t get multiple offers for him. Maybe once word is out he’s on the block the next questions are why and he inadvertently tanks the market for him?

So they will have 4 white dudes, Bronny and zero picks

If only they could super tank and get Cooper Flag and then sign someone like Zubac or my man Jonas

Zubac/Jonas
Flagg
Knecht
Luka
Reeves

Lakers don’t have a pick but it would be funny if they could get Flagg somehow

Zubac was already on their team, thank you Magic

What a disaster. They better lock up Luka or he might walk across the street

it seems it's a combination of (1) win now mode and (2) being fixated on AD

Dealing Luka for 18 1sts means Kyrie opts out and they're automatically rebuilding, with the albatross of Klay's deal they just gave him.

Lively/Gafford
AD/Washington
Christie/Naji
Klay/Grimes
Kyrie/Dinwiddle

Again, any projection has to start with AD being healthy (and Kyrie staying sane), but that rotation could do some major damage.

Apparently they only wanted Giannis or AD. That’s it. Nothing else.

They could have gotten 30 picks from the Thunder or Jazz if they wanted.

Dalllas won in this trade. AD and Kyrie are going to be Special!!!! Plus they didn’t have to give up Lively, Gafford or PJ Washington. God Bless America

He’s got another year and then player option.

He’s not going anywhere. The league isn’t going to let that happen.

When we were dealing AD to LAL I really wanted Zubac back. Would have much rather gotten him over Lonzo

Can we acknowledge how terrible of a ball centric pairing Bron and Luka will be.

It’s awful but Lebron is 40.

This is a 10 year play by the Lakers.

Ballmer has the stadium and could buy the lakers with his pocket change

Dont underestimate that. He runs the city now. Luka could walk over and join Zubac with ease

I hear you. Clippers is a great situation in every tangible way. In a normal sport and normal league, it would matter.

You have to know this is about the League, however.

Before last year, there were rumblings that were starting to get loud about how Luka was always going to be a tease and never win anything.

One magical playoff run seems to have made everyone forget, and following that up with a year where he shows up 260+ and then gets hurt (again) should have reminded everyone.

You know how I feel about random, magical runs in the playoffs and ignoring the rest of a player's history.

Luka is awesome, but Luka is flawed as shite. He's always injured and his style of play doesn't mesh with a style that wins titles. That's why when he ran into a legit contender last year they got G-swept. And the Celtics weren't even at 100% in that series.

Again, fixating on AD and being win-now likely will make this trade suboptimal, but unless Luka gets his shite together, it's not going to be as bad as people are thinking now.

One round of semiglutides and the Lakers have a 25 year old potential all time player for a 31 year old center.

Outside of the bubble title, the Clippers have dominated basketball in LA for over a decade

Him being unconditioned is just one of the issues.

His ball-centric style and horrific D are issues, too.

And with his conditioning, there's almost no way he makes it 10 years and when he falls off in 4-5 years, it will be fast and severe
