I like Moscona a lot. I think regionally, he is one of the top guys at what he does, and in Louisiana, likely the best.
He prepares, he is knowledgeable, and does not always sunshine pump.
Hunt is good too. A little more observant and calculated. Enjoy listening to him too.
Is he a dork with the shoes and the whiskey and his new pool and everything? Yea, kinda. We get it. But i also know some listeners connect with this.

I think he used to do a good job. The overbearing fake laugh, arrogant attitude, and other negative stuff that’s been mentioned eventually drove me away. The good just doesn’t outweigh the bad anymore

I usually listen to his show, except when Theriot is on, mostly because I don't like to listen to politics and I can't find a decent 60's station. Scone can be interesting, but he can also be pedantic and boring, apparently every Saints fan knew Jameis Winston would be a bust but Scone, but he went on and on, now silence.
And the 'drops'. I can't tell you how many times I turned him off anytime the words 'Kyle Peterson' were said, knowing there would be at least 5-10 minutes that crappy drop. It was funny the first time, not the 500th.
I'm not a prude or pearl clutcher, but the profanity and outright stupid drunkenness and that post game show is miserable to listen to, I made it through 20 minutes once, never again. What demographic is that show for, people who aspire to be the weird drunk uncle?
Scone has the 3-6 drive time slot, it's a big deal in radio, I wish Hanny or Hunt Palmer were on instead.

One segment of his I just can't listen to anymore though is the Wednesday segment during football season with an alleged SEC football expert who's name escapes me.

When he started he was much different he was one of the normal guys who made it. While not every take was great he didn’t make the show about himself. When his son was sick the fans rallied and made significant financial contributions to help the family as they should have and he was very humble and gracious. Since then he’s become a pompous try hard who shits on his fans and wants you to think he’s superior to them. A example when lsu made the CWS he went and bumped mentions of fans saying they wouldn’t go far earlier in the year while ignoring the fact he had a tweet saying the exact same thing. He has been fortunate to make some “famous” friends due to his job and he thinks he’s one of them now. When theriot comes on it’s very cringe he’s like a teen boy hanging with his crush. 104.5 needs some revamping. I semi like tbob and Hester together tho I wish Hester would steer tbob back to sports more when he gets off track and I have no clue why they bring Rivers on she’s insufferable

I agree with your statement 100%. Hell, I received multiple downvotes for asking a legitimate question. If that’s the case, Scone has no shot at pleasing our fan base, lmao.

He yells, laughs at his own jokes too often and loudly and takes 25 words to say 10.
Admittedly, I couldn't do his job.

Over the years he has developed a radio personality that is probably not his real personality. You can tell when he's really into the subject matter he is more even keel. At 3 hours long I'm sure there is some lulls in the show. Yes he does laugh way too hard at things, and he says things that he knows probably gets people agitated. His bromance with Ryan can get very annoying. I'll say this though he's better than most of local radio in the south. He's not a mouth breather. I also don't mind t Bob and Hester. The only issue is that t Bob gets to rambling so fast it sounds like he has a bunch of marbles in his mouth. He is very intelligent and knowledgeable about a bunch of things but when he gets on a roll it's annoying. Hanny is the best. Hunt is pretty good but every time I look at him he reminds me of Kirby Smart. Overall I think this area is fairly blessed with sports radio

WTIX Nola is the best 60's 70's station around

I’ll agree with this. I like Scone, listen to pretty much type of content he puts out. But he has some awful weekly guests.

I think he's smart and very good at his job, but he's a narcissistic douchebag a lot of times so he's hard to listen to when he is. Overall though I don't mind him.

quote:Yeah, I think Russ was good at first when it was just content-driven but they developed a relationship that turned into bad radio and they really don't care whether you like it or not they are buddies now and that's how they are gonna play it as cringeworthy as it is.

Whether Mitchell really believes all his takes or not - like picking LSU to go 5-7 last year, his takes are bad - you can make good money fading his picks I assure you.

I’m guessing he loves this string. As long as it is all about him.
