Not entirely on topic, but I have always thought female tennis players are some of the most fortunate athletes. The way they play the same tournaments at the same time as the men gives them a lot more visibility (and money) than they would get on their own.
Several years ago I had an overnight flight delay in Miami during the Miami Open and spent the day watching the tournament I saw Nadal practice, Djokovic play, and was supposed to see Federer play but he pulled out sick.
Before the Djokovic night match Venus Williams played and so I sat there in the stadium and watched it.
I have been to a Venus Williams match even though it wouldn’t have even crossed my mind to go if not for the men’s matches.
